| Basic wiring question here.
I want to install a standard 4 wire connector to my van. The connector
kit says to wire green to right stop/turn signal. However the right
turn signal and stop light are two diferent lights/wires. Do I just
jumper the green wire to both the stop light and turn signal. The same
holds true for the left.
White -- Car Ground
Green -- Car right stop/turn signal
Yellow -- Car left stop/turn signal
Tan -- Car tail light (running light)

681.11 | Diode in the circut | FX28PM::TWOTOO::SMITHP | Written but not read | Mon Apr 14 1997 15:06 | 21 |
| I think what I am looking for is a diode. EE in the office said to
splice a diode to the turn wires (R & L) and one to the stop light (R &
L). These are about 25cents each at Radio Shack vs $12-14 for the
splicer box.
Connector Connections
White -- Car Ground
Green -- Car right stop/turn signal
Yellow -- Car left stop/turn signal
Tan -- Car tail light (running light)
Example (repeat for leftside yellow wire)

| There is more to the splicer box than just a couple of diodes. The
circuit that you have drawn will not give you a turn signal when the
brakes are applied. Any time you apply the brakes, the lights will
stay on solid, regardless of the turn signal input. It is worth it to
buy the box. $12 is cheap to get the correct circuit all pre-wired and
sealed in a weather tight box.

| Well I purchased a Hoppy plug connector kit ($35) and returned the
standard 4 wire kit. The Hoppy had everything I needed and was a simple
unplug connect at tail lights and plugin the Hoppy connectors. The
thought of spending $8 for a 4 wire connector kit and another $14 for
the spliter box, then having humteen slice connectors everywhere just was
not worth the $13 cost savings over the Hoppy plug & play kit for me.
Thanks
