Clemens, Viola, Darwin, Dopson, Quantrill
Harris, Bankhead, Hesketh, Fossas, Ryan, Russell

Calderon, Hatcher, Quintana, Zupcic, Dawson
Greenwell's on the DL, Richardson's released? Who's number 25?

Richardson's not released *yet*. He's just on waivers, and as soon as
he clears he'll be sent down. I'll leave the comments on the wisdom of
carrying 12 pitchers and maybe 10 healthy everyday players (2 or 3 of
whom produce) to someone else...

43.8 | You wanna talk ugly... | AKOCOA::BREEN | But in the land of the one-eyed men | Thu May 27 1993 17:04 | 12 |
| What's uglier is that Sox are as competitive as 75% or more of rest which
are all 2/3 AAA. And now I see trend in announcers to describe a
complete boner as "He really did the right thing" as when a second
baseman cut off a grounder and threw to third and runner simply turned
and ran home as any smart minor leaguer or Boston City softball player
would.
I am talking like your father's father but really -- 60s sox didn't
make mistakes that are made every night by every team. Part of the
problem is that players today have to think before they act because
they didn't grow up playing 500 innings of sandlot a week like pre
little league generations.

FFL_B needs two new owners of existing franchises for the upcoming football
season. No experience or cash required. We lost 2 of our owners in the
offseason and we need a couple of replacements.
Unlike fantasy baseball, FFL takes a minimum amount of time during the course
of the season. If you want it can be as simple as filling out a roster (total
of 5 minutes) every week.
everything is done via notes.
Send me mail if you're interested...

Anybody out there?? If so, I was interested in some ideas on
some good rookies to look out for (NL). Anyone have any cheap
favorites that would be steals in a draft.(pun intended) Just
thought I'd throw some roto talk out and see what's going on.

looking for rookies, look at Raul Mondesi (LA), James Mouton (Hou),
Kelly Stinnett (NY), Steve Traschel (CHC) and Hector Carrasco (Cin).
Maybe Tony Tarasco or Ryan Klesko in Atlanta...

And watch Colorado closely since stats are magnified there (or is the

Also, Chipper (Jones?) of Atlanta. Gammons did a whole article
(Sunday) I think just on rookies. That was in early March sometime.

Floyd may start down in the minors. Curtis Pride and Rondell White
are probably the better bets to get playing time with the Expos.

Thanks. I've been memorizing "Baseball Weekly" for the past few
weeks trying to get ready for the draft, but I wanted some other
opinions. Our whole league is getting together for the ESPN special
tonight, which is good because we'll all have the same information.
Of course, all those secret low priced bargains won't be secrets
anymore. Oh well.

Most predictions are for Javy Lopez to take the NL rookie of the

Of course, in the league I'm in he's already taken.

The game is completely online, and you use a small user program to
control your team and to communicate to the other owners.
If you look into the notes conference RTFM1::FFL96 you will find all
the info you need to participate.
No fees (and no prices either :-)). It's for bragging rights only.
You are very much welcome,

It's also a nice, light rotisserie league. The scoring system
makes things interesting - you're not out of it until you're
out of it, as Walt Ashe found out a couple of years back - he
took over the worst team in the league, and won the championship
that year...

| Hello fellow noters.
It's time again for the fourth season of DEC/FFL.
Fantasy Football League is a game that let's you be the manager of a
NFL team (or almost). You compete against 11 other eager owners about a
place in the DECbowl IV.
The game is played completely online without you having to do any
paperwork. It will take you some 5-10 minutes a week to keep your team
in contention.
To find out more on how to play FFL, look in the notes conference at
STKHLM::FFL97
Leagues are started as soon as we have 12 owners. It doesn't matter if
you enrol after the first week, each league gets it's on schedule.
Welcome,
Paul Ahlgren
