    based on the title I guess this is as good a place as any to stick this
    note:
    
    Last week I was trying to bring a Swiss K11 {somewhat rare} piece back
    to a reasonable state; it had a bunch of rust and surface junk on it,
    and tried the following on the trigger guard:
    
    - Nev'r Dull "Magic Polishing Wadding"
    
    - 0000 Steel Wool
    
    - Left elbow grease
    
    I applied a layer of ND, then elbow greased the layer of ND around with
    the steel wool until the gunk and rust went away. Do this lightly so
    you don't create the dreaded "shiny spot" on whatever metal surface you are
    working on..
    
    The trigger guard cleaned right up, and the original patina was left
    intact. Not bad. Not bad at all!

    Geez, you are a newbie, aint'cha......old Hawg-ridin' fools've
    known about Never-Dull for many moons now :) If you get rust
    on yer nipples (spokes, of course) that stuff'll melt it away...
