Just checked www.pricewatch.com for 16Mb EDO simms and they have gone
UP to $62+ per simm now. Not very nice to see almost a $10 increase
since last week eh? Rather quick to jump up so much so fast? I did read
in the paper(s) something about 16mb part shortages or something like
that over the past week....but certainly did NOT expect a $10/simm
increase this quickly! I KNEW I should have bought it last week......

| I read in the paper last week the Korean memory mfrs are going to cut
back on production of 16MB RAMS. This could trigger off speculative
price increases.

| The Mercury News yesterday speculated that RAM prices will be VERY
SENSITIVE to market perceptions and panic of many types. Price
fluctuations of 20% will be foreseeable.
HOWEVER, due to the nature of the beast, the long-term prognosis for
memory is a DECREASE BY 30% over the next year. If you want to wait you
will see 16Meg sticks for $40 next year... if you want to wait.

Why is that? Are they ramping up production of 64MB RAMS? I guess it'll
soon be time to start comparing prices for those!
