I would like to know as well. We are currently proposing a small, entry level system, for a customer which we intend to be managed only from a PC!

Me too. I know a good number of customers who manage their TDM MUX networks (voice + data) or their private X.25 networks of switches with NMS software running on PC's under DOS+WINDOWS. For customer projects I had reviewed a number of 3rd party offerings 2 years ago. As far as I can remember the major players already offered both the PC DOS + WINDOWS (as entry level) and the SUN + SUNNET MGR to manage their devices (TIMEPLEX, NET, GDC, ALCATEL, NEWBRIDGE, ...)

As always, the latest schedule is found in NAC::MANAGEMENT:STATUS.TXT I'm better off giving you the pointer, as the date is subject to change and people will read old dates here and get the wrong ideas. jack |
