Several questions from our potential customer (DHL Worldwide Services)
- is TELNET OLTP supported in the DECserver900 ? (what the hell is
TELNET OLTP ? ...)
- does DEC have reference sites with DEChub900+DECbrouter90+DECserver900
working with HP9800 hosts (under HP-UX) under TELNET ?
- Any known problems with printing Unix output on printers attached to
DECserver900 ?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Best regards.

Who knows? OLTP usually means On Line Tranaction Processing...

There *can* be some problems. These have solutions, and are discussed
in detail in the TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS conference. Basically, since
Telnet does not have the sort of application layer protocol for
printing that say, lpr/lpd does, you're better off running a "print
filter" program on the host to deal with re-queueing print jobs on
error, etc. We supply a reference implementation of a print filter (as
C-language source code) in the DECserver software kits Refer to Note
38 in TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS for a discussion of the print filter.

Dave

Thanks for the effort Dave.
Anyone else knows what TELNET OLTP is ? The account is a HP account
(9000 800 series) and we are bidding for the network.
Thanks
