4882.0. "WILMINGTON: GRAY FEMALE CAT FOUND" by FRAGLE::CONNELLY () Mon Aug 26 1991 18:26

	      	Female cat needs help getting home

    She was found on August 17th on the route 62 end of Boutwell Ave in
    Wilmington. We would like to return her to her family if possible.

    She is a 1-2 year old Russian Blue, otherwise a shorthair dark gray
    with green eyes, weighing in at 7-8 lbs (she is slightly heavier than
    my cat, who is also a Russian Blue). Very, very cute. She absolutely
    loves attention, she likes to curl up on my shoulder and nuzzle me.

    She has been obviously very well cared for, and is extremely loving
    and affectionate.

    She is presently located in Wilmington, I don't know if she has been
    fixed or not. She is litter box trained , is well mannered and gets
    along well with other cats. She is also not fussy about what she eats
    (dry or soft). She also appears to be an indoor/outdoor cat, I know
    this because she was using a cat door at a neighbors home before we
    took her in.

    If you know of anyone in the Wilmington/Billerica/Burlington area who
    has lost or is missing a cat of the above description, please call at
    the numbers below, or send me e-mail. To date we have posted ads and
    notified the local authorities, it has been more than a week since she
    was first noticed in the neighborhood, and I am the only person who
    inquired about a lost cat (since mine was lost at the time, and is now
    found).

4882.1Hope she finds her home!!??AIMHI::BOYKOWed Aug 28 1991 15:359
    I am kind of stretching my neck out here, but if her home is not found
    and you cannot keep her, please contact me, and I will keep her. I
    just don't know how she would get along with two other cats and my
    sheepdog that tolerates them both!

    Thanks,
    Nancy-- 264-2908
    ps--don't want to see her go to a shelter!

4882.2When is a Blue a Blue?FRAGLE::CONNELLYWed Aug 28 1991 16:2415

    I was informed yesterday that neither my cat nor the stray are
    Russian Blues. I tend to agree that my cat is a mixed breed,
    but you couldn't tell to look at her. I can't tell the difference
    between her and the pictures in the cat books, as far as Blues
    are concerned, as she has a round face. The lost/stray cat on the
    other hand has sort of higher/longer cheekbones. I'm no expert,
    but I thought a clarification was in order.

    We cannot keep here after September 3rd, so if anyone is in any
    way interested in adoption, please send me e-mail until the close
    of business Thursday, after that you can call me at one of the
    numbers in .0.

4882.3Wish I could Help !AIMHI::BOYKOThu Aug 29 1991 14:2411
    Hi,

    Unfortunately, after talking with Hubby last night, he "suggested"
    I not think of getting another cat. I am sorry, and I feel real
    bad about not being able to take care of your new addition. But
    with 2 cats and a large dog, he didn't think it would be a good idea.
    The 2 cats we have grew up with our dog, so it wasn't so bad of an
    adjustment for them.

    Sorry,
    Nancy
4882.4Will miss her!FRAGLE::CONNELLYFri Aug 30 1991 09:3318

    Nancy,

    That's ok, it's the thought that counts. It's probably for the best
    for all concerned.

    All,

    We were able to place her thanks to this notesfile. I think
    she will be very happy, as she 'took' to her new family right
    away (actually, I don't blame her after the 50 minite ride down
    495 I gave her). It was very hard to give her up after only 8
    days, amazing how quickly one gets attached to small 'friends'.

    thanks again for all the response.

    /Rich
