I've searched high and low but can't find anything on cats and
motorbikes together so here goes.....
I supose most people would not dream of taking their cat on a bike.
You'd be surprised at how much easier it is with a lot of them than
cars.
The last few cats I've known (I haven't had a bike for that long
- only a year or so) have been VERY impressed with it as a form
of transport.
The first time it was sugested I thought poor thins, they'll be
terrified: not so both Tigger and Dinah *LOVED* it.
There is a knack though ....
Take one cat,
Make sure the basket has a door,
Never bunge the basket on or try to carry it yourself, always
make sure it's the pillion who carries it,
and
ALWAYS BUT ALWAYS try to ensure the cat is facing the pavement
not the traffic going the other way (a speeding car tends to
make them jump)
When we took the cats on the bike they were always trying to get
their noses through the basket door into all that high speed air,
and they're so facinated by all those people going past at high
speed they didn't seem to have time to be worried about where they
were going.
I don't know if anyone else has any suggestions or experiences with
cats on bikes, but if you have I'd love to hear about it.
Contrary to first impressions they really do seem to be well into
biking.
Ride free and furry.

Oops forgot one bit I was going to mention which I certainly wouldn't
recommend if you love your kitty.
I once heard of a girl who used to 'wear' her kitten around her
neck on her scooter - madness if you ask me.
What if the cat gets scared! Dead kitty and rider I'd think.

I don't think anyone in this file DOESN'T love their kitty.
What is the meaning of this note??

Gee I thought it was a very cute note. Not something I'd try mind
you but let's just say different. I took it as a means of getting
some conversation going not to stir the flames.
I would think by "if you love your kitty" that meant don't ever
do this..........
Anyways I LOVED the pictures especially the kitty!!!!!

re .3 and .0
Me too. I even recognized the bike. I never thought of taking
my kittys on a ride. And I would also not wear it around my neck
like a fur collar (too hot).

there is a guy in my neighborhood who rides a 10 speed bike around
town with his cat hangin' on to his right shoulder. the cat sort
of sits/lies across the guys back as he rides, presumably holding
on with his front paws. Its really a sight to see, apparently he
has had a great deal of success, since this has been going on for
about 2 years now.
