My contract seems to get renegotiated on a day by day basis.
Heck, I was just contracted back in March last year so's I could pay for a
surprise party that the IRS was throwing for me. Somehow, despite
everyone's best lack of effort, I'm still here.
In real life, I'm not here. I'm still in school.

Actually, ne.politics is the complete newsgroup name. But in spite
of the name, they still talk about national politics a lot in there;
it seems to be a "local discussion group" thing, perhaps a smaller
pond to deal with than the huge and unwieldy nationwide political
discussion newsgroups.

"ferret on the barcolounger" is a quote from a speech by
Massachusetts Gov. Weld spoken as he signed the bill legalizing
ferret ownership in Massachusetts back in February. The entire
quote reads,
"Search and seizure may make sense if there's a crocodile in the tub,
or a cougar in the closet -- but a ferret on the barco-lounger ... well,
that's what domestic bliss is made of, and any government that
interrupts such benign happiness is going too far."
I agree wholeheartedly. I have four ferrets. :-)
And now you know.

ever get a lot of hate mail on that one. Those ferret owners are a
ferocious bunch once you get them riled up.

whole string.
