Some geek *purposely* cut me off (I had my turn signal on and everything)
on the highway, as I was trying to get around a truck (he was behind
me). For the briefest of moments, I forgot myself and felt like
ramming him (him and that old guy in the nice shiny beemer who cut me
off not 3 minutes later). Since I'm still driving my old junker around,
it wouldn't have bothered me in the least- what's another scratch or dent
to my butt-ugly car? Would've been a big deal to slobo in his $30K
car, though- and old dude in his nice new beemer. Might also
have been a good lesson in courtesy for them both.
The other three times or so I was cut off was probably not intentional.
Actually, I'm not cranky about it anymore (stupidity/lack of courtesy on
the roadways in these parts are simply a normal part of everyday life),
so maybe I should've placed this in the TTHT topic, simply due to the
overabundance of idiocy this morning.

| RTw 09/13 1300 Actor who immortalised Holmes dies, aged 59
LONDON, Sept 13 (Reuter) - Actor Jeremy Brett, who immortalised the
detective Sherlock Holmes on British television for 10 years, has died
of heart failure aged 59.
Hailed as the definitive Holmes, Brett died peacefully at his London
home, a spokesman for Granada Television said on Wednesday.
"He was a great friend and a really remarkable actor," said Edward
Hardwicke, who played Holmes' bumbling sidekick Dr Watson in the hugely
popular series. "Jeremy brought extraordinary energy to the part and
made it his own."
The son of a colonel, Brett appeared in the film version of My Fair
Lady. He married actress Anna Massey in 1958 but the couple was
divorced four years later. They had one son.
He married American actress Joan Sullian in 1978 but she died of cancer
in 1986, plunging him into depression.
He began playing Holmes in 1984, relaunching a career which was in the
doldrums during the 1970s.
After collapsing with heart trouble in 1993 while filming his last
appearance as Holmes, Brett said: "I would be risking my heart, head
and neck if I was to stick it on the block again playing Holmes."

I was told that I needed, without fail, to go to this rehearsal
tonight. It was very important.
I sold my symphony tickets. Some total stranger got to see Emanuel Ax
in my wonderful seats.
I wasn't needed at the rehearsal which started at 7:00 until about 8:15.
I was on stage about 15 minutes, then I sat and waited for almost half
an hour, and then I was told I could go home.
This show is making me sick. I think I have an ulcer 8^/.
John, was it good?

| Helpful Hint -- it is customary NOT to refer to one's posterior in the
plural.

Do keep up, Shawn. My crankiness yesterday was not caused by
the offending T-shirt (though the shirt didn't help).

| 'twas here yesterday. The wording seemed designed to offend.
The infamous "which way is up and out" doors are closed. Someone commented
that it looks like a hospital here now - I think it looks marginally better
than that, but the screams of pain are pretty similar.

Is it the 17.8721 t-shirt to which you refer?

| Ahhh, yes sir, that's probably the one. Now I see why some may have
taken offence. I have doubts about religion, but those are pretty
stupid things to have on a T-Shirt.
I think pitying the person with the T-Shirt might be an idea.

Dear Sir or Madam
Will you read my note?
It took me hours to write it
Will you read my note?
It's based on a note
By a man named Haag
But it reads just like
It was wrote by my dog.
