    Also, Page was *formerly* the owner of Aliester Crowley's mansion, not

    And I have eight bookcases in my house, most of which are
    full of various occult texts and tarot card decks and divination
    systems (75 to be exact, antique and modern), volumes on ancient 
    history, paganism and early Christianity.  I also collect crucifixes, 
    rosary beads, and have two "Extremunction" kits from the turn of the 
    century.  Some of us just find it religion in all forms interesting, 
    that's all.  You do not walk into my house and feel like you're 
    visiting the Addams Family.  The local animal shelter, perhaps, but

    spelling, i also looqed in a merriem webster collegiate dictionary 
    and got the same result.  then i went and found a huge webster's
    unabridged dictionary, and still, no such spelling.  however, i did
    find that it is acceptable to spell any word begining with 'gyneo' as
    'gynaeo'...but, since 'gynecologist' doesn't begin with 'gyneo', i
    don't see how it could be spelled 'gynae'...if anything, it'd have to
    be 'gynaeocologist', but it's not...

The MicroSoft emulator seems to be exceedingly poor.
I know others (including Jim, I think) have had a lot of
success with WinVT.
I'm currently using what I understand to be a DIGITAL clone
of that, called VTStar. It seems to work pretty well, having
the "look and feel" of a DEC terminal pretty much down pat.
There's a conference on it which details the kit location
etc.

    For a long time, the word "break" has referred to the "C" section

here's what i am told is a pretty accurate intro...

hello all!

i am delighted to have found this conference and time permitting, i hope 
to participate. 

a few biographical details to my person: i am now 35, i grew up in africa 
(ghana) where my dad worked for the U.N., with seventeen we moved to rome,
italy, where i completed school, then after a short spell in switzerland
where i met my wife and married, we moved on to england where i completed 
my computer science studies and worked. 

i am now divorced since five years, have since settled in switzerland.
my children, georgina (10) and sebastian (7) live in england with their 
mother, where i visit them once a month and we all, the parents and children,
spend one vacation a year together.

i joined DEC in 87 as principal software specialist, i left in 1990 to set 
up my own consulting company. after four years of building the business with
success, i left the running of it to my partners, to gain more time for 
individual pursuits whilst earning a living as contractor. since one year
i am thus with RTR engineering, involved in porting the product to OSF/1, 
Sun OS and Windows NT. 

besides work, i have recently completed a year of philosophy at the university 
of zurich, got involved in local politics, where i participated in the campaign
for the legalisation of drugs. this campaign is for the time being, completed,
having managed to collect enough signatures to get the politicians involved.

my focus has now turned towards endurance sports - i have this summer 
discovered triathlon and am now building up training for my first marathon
next year and for an ultra-triathlon in the following year...

true. the only drug which i easily get addicted to is the "runner's high" :-)

i don't use drugs myself (regular consumption of beer excluded). my motivator
for working towards legalising/decriminalising drugs is seeing the negative 
effects of prohibition. i live in that infamous square mile of switzerland 
which is most affected by the drugs problem. here, seeing youths marginalised, 
petty thefts, burglaries, prostitution and organised crime on the rise, police 
and politicians either helpless or corrupted, is in stark contrast to what is 
otherwise a generally clean, safe and well organised country. this, coupled 
with inordinate sums of tax payers money being spent on prosecuting/imprisoning
drug consumers and small time dealers just didn't make a convincing case for 
the policy of prohibition.

the "legalise drugs" campaign was instrumental for making the general public
aware of the shortcomings of the hard-line policy of prohibition. the campaign 
also spawned a national debate on more effective drug policy. whilst the debate
continues and whilst policy changes to become less repressive, already, 
consumption of soft and hard drugs are now, de facto no longer prosecuted in 
switzerland, dealing in soft drugs (pot, hashish) is tolerated by the 
authorities, the medical and social services for abusers of hard drugs have 
been vastly improved, the spread of AIDS and of drug related crime have been
effectively contained and are expected to decline.

or pro--legalization of prostitution doesn't mean one has to be a participant
in that activity. It merely means that a person recognises that freedom

   Started looking around in here recently (followed Mr. Percival to see what

introduce myself. 

   My name is Allan Whitman. I'm a software consultant with the Enterprise

If it's hand held and fires a projectile down range, I'm interested. I joined
