I like Poison a lot. They're kind of a neat band. I mean, not great
musicians, but the band puts across a very likable sound and image.
Its non threatening, yet readily available to a wide audience (i
mean, I can see fans of Kiss, DLR, Ratt, Motley Crue and GnRs liking
this band because I see similarities to all of the above in them).
The first lp had a good selection of radio-orientated hits, the
second, while I haven't heard too much of it, seems to be rocketing
up the charts.
i can also see how a lot of people may not like them.

Well, I'm an owner of the second album, and after the first
listen, Bill Upham thought it should be called "Bend Over and Say
Aaah." It was kind of tame. But now I like it quite a bit. It
certainly doesn't get priority over my Metallica tapes, but it's
like the hardest thing my girlfriend will put up with. Oh geeziz,
I can't believe I just said that.
So, they get a semi-thumbs up from me. I agree with Buck. They're
"neat", and not very threatening, and as Dall says, since they've
become popular, they've also become scapegoats for people that dislike
makeup, and glam bands.

me, was a bit lame, but that one song was worth it.
I too see them as a non-threatening band. George Lynch doesn't
have to worry about C.C. stealing his chops. Rikki Rocket, will

Are you serious? If you think that these guys, and I use that term
loosely, put out a likable image, then you've been hanging out on
the wrong side of town. The only people I can see this image appealing
to are girls who wish they could look like that, and guys who don't
really know what they like.
As far as their music is concerned, it's just more boring, radio
crap that tons of other bands put out. It ain't all that bad, but
it ain't that good either, and all it does is crowd the air waves
and prevent better stuff from getting played. These kinds of bands
would be nowhere without eMpTyV.
One other thing. Poison...a metal band? Don't be ridiculous.

Well Sean, I mean, most of the rockers I know are SO image conscious
it isn't funny!!! I mean, they actually have conversations about
what kind of conditioner they use in their hair so it doesn't frizz
(oh, in case you were wondering, this is guys I'm talking about!).
And most, if not all of them are of the `posuer' nature if you wanna
refer to it as that. Why? I donno. I know its popular, and it SELLS,
and record companies want it (yeah, they really do, I know for a
fact), so why not I guess?
I mean, An image like crue's latest (guys in leather on harleys)
or like the new kiss (stripped down in basic black) is very hard
to sell. I mean, I'd say it was probably an impossible image to
sell if you were a band just starting out. Someone like Kiss can
get away with it, they already have their audience. How did they
get their audience??? Makeup and costumes and lotza hype!

good.
As far as their make-up - I know they take a lot of grief from my
brother and my mother because it makes them look like girls (my
brother says they are fags) but I don't listen to them. I figure
if they can make you feel good and feel like dancing to the musc

note. But, since this is the 'RIGHT' place, I'll put some of it
here too.
I like some of their songs. I don't care for the makeup, but they
seem to be backing off that lately. I saw them recently and they
didn't have any noticable makeup onstage, and wore pretty basic
stage clothes. The bass player was the only one with spandex.
I think the singer has a good R&R voice and give him thumbs up for
the strutty, arrogant attitude. That's what the band is all about
and that's ok. They seem like their having a good time when they
play (both on record and live) and I really like that a lot. Seems
like so many bands take themselves (and everyone else) tooooooo
seriously. I like it when a band can have a good time and convay
that to the audience. That was one of the big things I like/liked
about Van Halen.
I personally think that CC Deville is overrated (if anyone really rated
him) or over hyped as a guitar player. He seems to play what he plays
reasonably well, and probably not too much else. His solo Randy Rhodes
rip-off crappola when I saw them really pissed me off though. Just
about any guitar player could play what he played (maybe even me). I
found it embarrasing and uncalled for. He could have played any crummy
riff without ripping off someone that was really GREAT!
'nuff complaining.
Just my opinion,

re: .7
Well, I must say that you are entitled to your opinion, but
in some cases like (ATEAM::BUTKUS) says, Poison is what's
getting the chart toppers and they're making HM and hard
rock more noticeable.
My friend's sister claims to know the band personally and
says they're the sweetest bunch of guys. Whether they
decide to wear makeup makes no difference to me. It's what's
on the inside.
I don't know very much about guitars and riffs, etc. So
maybe CC DID rip off Randy Rhodes; but *I* couldn't tell.
He's a performer trying to make his audience enthused.
He achieved this whether or not he ripped off Randy Rhodes.
The younger generation now probably has a VAGUE idea who
Randy Rhodes is!!
Frankly, I don't understand how Stryper can be called HM,
but then again, there are others who don't know how
Poison can be called HM either.
To each his own, I guess. I personally find the band

I was just saying that, as a guitar player, I don't appreciate what
CC played at that one show. I have nothing against him personally
or the licks he uses in their own songs. He definately plays to
incite the (non-musician) audience. I can accept that. But he coulda
easily done that without stealing someone elses stuff (especially
4 #$%%^$^ times...). He seems like he has a good time on stage
and conveys that to the audience and I like that.
I would much rather hear a crappy sounding, but original, solo then
an expertly executed rip-off! I know from the discussions, both
here and in MUSIC, on Kingdom Come and Led Zeppelin that I'm not
alone in this opinion.

Well, for one thing, I don't agree with the idea that bands like
Poison and Bon Jovi are getting HM the recognition that it deserves,
because they are not. The only kind of band that's gonna win one
of those bogus grammys is the commericial, radio-oriented pseudo
metal who sell lots of records, but who couldn't even come close
to matching the talent found in bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest,
Metallica, etc. I know this argument has been beaten to death,
but just once I'd like to see a band win an award for good quality
musicianship, and not for good marketing. Hell, why don't they just
give the awards to the promoters and the PR people, because they're
the ones who sell a lot of the records.
As far as the comparisons between Poison and Kiss, I don't think
there is any comparison. Kiss didn't wear makeup, they wore costumes
that fit in with the Heavy Metal image. To me, trying to make yourself
look as much like a female as possible doesn't. I don't mean to
offend anyone's personal taste, because as all HM fans know, everyone
has their own ideas of what is good and bad. In my opinion though,
bands like Poison represent everything bad about music in the 80's.
The music comes secondary to business. The only thing is, not all
successful bands have had to follow that route. It's just the ones
who want that ultra-quick trip to the top of the charts.
Well, sorry for rambling on, and no offense to any of you Poison
fans out there.

You may sy that Bon Jovi, et al do not have as much 'talent' as

Poison's PR people are just a little more (I can't think of

Re .23 You took the words right out of my mouth. Well said.
Someone said earlier that it was great to see heavy metal bands
like Poison on the top of the charts, but I don't see the
siginificance there. As far as I can see, Poison attracts a very
similar audience to that of Debbie Gibson or Tiffany. They attract
mostly high school and junior high aged girls, who are more concerned
about the performers hair and how he can shake his butt than they
are about how good the music is. You know, the type of kids that
scream and hug each other when one of their songs comes on the radio
for the fiftieth time that day. There was a quote made by one of
the females in this conference, I don't know who and it doesn't
really matter, that I read that pretty much summed up what I'm
talking about. That person basically said that they would die to
see some band in concert because the lead singer is sexy, and that
if the music was good, they'd even go see them again. Shouldn't
that be the reason you go to a concert in the first place.
Well I'm gonna try to find that exact quote, because I don't really
think I did it justice. And believe me, I'm not just trying to
rag on girls, because I'm sure that there are plenty of guys who
go see Lita Ford just to watch her on stage. As far as I'm concerned,
people like that wouldn't know Heavy Metal if it slammed them in

I don't think it makes much of a difference whether a person

And *I* didn't get HM slammed in my face....
You may not think Poison is not an HM group (and that's your
opinion, and you are entitled to it), but you've got to
admit that although Poison (or any other group similar)
isn't as heavy as some of the other groups, they are the

re. .33
Okay, I agree that to people who are into top 40, Poison must seem
like HM. I just get a bit upset at the use of the term I guess.
I really don't think that Poison is heavy metal, but then again,
my definition of HM is probably different than that of others, so
I stand corrected on that one.
But as far as Poison making it possible for HM bands to make it
to the charts, you've gotta be f**&in kinding! First of all, most
heavy metal bands never see the charts, and I'm talking about some
very successful bands, like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC etc.
If that's your way of determining how good a band is, then I don't
know why I'm even arguing. Most good HM bands could care less about
the frigin charts. And don't even try to tell me that bands like
Poison and Motley Crue are paving the way for bands like Metallica,
Megadeth, Armored Saint, and Metal Church. They're not even in
the same league.
One other comment. I agree that HM is an acquired taste. And I
certainly don't confine myself to HM. One of the best shows I've
ever seen was Elton John, so I can appreciate good musicianship,
no matter what it classification. But I don't think that one gets
"into" the heavier metal by listening to the light stuff first.
Back in my early high school days, I listened to stuff like Aerosmith,
Led Zep (still my fave), and the Who, so that's where I started.

One other clarification. The comment I made about some people not
knowing HM if it slammed them in the face. What I meant to say
was that people use the term HM to describe such a wide variety
of bands too loosely. I mean, just read the two words, HEAVY
metal. Poison is not that Heavy. I wouldn't call them a pop
band either. They're a rock band. I just think the term HM is
used way too much, by bands that don't even fit the bill.

HEY! Chill out. No need to get all worked up because you
have an opinion that is different than mine (or anyone
else's).
The way that *I* interpreted your reply (-2 or so) was that
you thought that people who like HM like ONLY HM and nothing
else. I was merely trying to tell you that, indeed, that
is not the case.
It's been stated before (somewhere in here) that Poison
is not a HEAVY metal band, but they don't classify as
a pop band either (which you've stated, also). So no
need to argue on that one. It's already been said many
times.
Maybe the word HEAVY should be dropped, and just the
word Metal should be used. That would solve the "but
they're not HEAVY metal" problem, wouldn't it??
All I meant when I said that Poison is "paving the way"
for other Metal bands is that MAYBE now that there is
a "metallish" band ON the charts, the other ones will
begin to get the recognition they deserve and soon enough
HM'ers all over will be satisfied....

Maybe the bands could care less, but don't you think for one second
the management behind the band doesn't care. High cart ratings mean
one thing (besides popularity)...$$$.
Record co.'s sign an act to make them $$$, not out of the goodness
of their hearts, or because they want to let everyone in the world

I'm sure Malmsteen is gonna get a word or two from his record co

I know what you're are saying about bands paving the way for HM
and you are right in a way. This whole thing about a Grammy award
being added for HM is what gets me though. Here they are adding
a so-called Heavy Metal award, and you know as well as I that the
only bands that will be nominated will be the Motley Crues, the
Bon Jovis, the Poisons, etc. Now don't get me wrong, I've seen
the Crue and Bon Jovi live and thought they were great. It just
pisses me off that the really hard bands are completely overlooked.
It was bands like Priest and Sabbath that created the HM genre,
and they were and are Heavy Metal. Someone commented earlier that
Poison was the kind of music that made them want to get up and
dance. That, to me mind you, is not the criterion for a good
heavy metal band. Heavy metal to me is an intense, hard driving,
heavy beat kind of music that's meant to listen to. I can't
even understand the people that go to see Megadeth, and thrash
for the whole show. They can do that at home with the records.
I personally go to watch some hardcore, intense musicians. So
you see, even though I've probably made myself out to be a total
metalhead, I'm not. I'm not into the image, I just love the music,
and that goes for all types of music: blues, fusion, classical,
r&r, etc. That's why I get kinda p'd off when I see a band like
Poison. I just look at them and go "Why?". Oh well, I promise
not to go off the handle any more.

It's the people like Tipper Gore and her happy followers

I wouldn't want to see Metallica get a Grammy. It would be the death

Record sales would plummet.
A lot of metal heads would say they'd sold out.
Who the hell wants to see their kind of music regarded as mainstream?
What would we turn to for a fresh (motor)breath of frenzy music
if these bands were "POP", and on the radio all the time?

I don't need to have a band be "the best" at anything to

I don't recall anyone saying that CC was the best guitar

because he ripped off licks and such from Randy Rhoads.
I have no voice on who the best or worst is because I am

Hey Jay,
WTF? Hey, If *your* idea of a great band is basing it on musical
`knowledge', then hey, have a good life, ya know??
me, I realize there's far more to a band than what appears on vinal
(Oh, and how do you know that CC really can't play...ever hear of
a producer...yeah, they're the guys that usually tell you not to
play anything to outrageous because it won't sell!). there are
a lot of professional guitar players I've met who have come across
a total idiots on record, but are actually great players. There
are people who sound great on tape, but actually stink. It goes
both ways, but unless you hung out with CC recently and jammed with
him, how do you know...
I like Poison for what they're worth, which is mainstream power
pop rock.
Besides, what the hell does Musical knowledge have to do with musical
tastes?? If that's so, I'll say you're an idiot for not listening
to the works of Mascagni.

No, not mad.
Yet, somehow I get the feeling these days that if a guitarists doesn't
play sextuplets all the time, he's no good. I mean, sure CC has
a rough sound, you can tell his technique is not as polished as,
say MacAlpine, but often less is more (IMO). I think with all these
hot players, kids think if you play fast you get voted best new
talent in all the guit mags and everyone thinks your god. If you
play slow and bluesy, you've gotta be lousy.
It just seemed like the reply a few back was saying CC and the band
stunk because they were lousy musicians. Maybe they're not great
technically, but there are different shades to being a 'musician',
and technique is just one piece o the pie.

Yes, we all DO have a right to our own opinion. This in-
cludes everyone else, as well as you. So when you say,
"Poison SUCKS!!" then everyone who likes Poison starts to
voice their opinion ... which, as everyone knows, starts
a war.
I'll say it again (although wjb said it very well a couple
replies ago) - 'sucks' and 'doesn't appeal to me' are two
different statements ... you can't say a band 'sucks', be-
cause people do like them - which voids your claim. You
can say, however, that 'they don't appeal to you' ... and
give a reason or 2. THEN your claim becomes valid.

| What the H*ll is this? I thought this was a note about Poison,
not the fags in P-town!?!?! So, O.K....poison does look a little
"Fresh"! But what is in question here. Music...or make-up?
What about Alice Cooper, old KISS, and a few others which I can't
think of off the top of my head. They played (and still play) some
kick a*s rock. It's all a gimick to get attention, sell records
and blow people's minds.
I saw poisons album cover before I heard the album, and it
was hard to swallow after seeing these four "very attractive"
men! But, once I listened to the album, I liked them. And
if you really want to know the truth....I saw Poison with
David Lee Roth two weeks ago, and Poison rocked the house down!!!
They definetly (SP?) stood their own ground. I have seen DLR
twice, once with VH, and once on his own, and it was NOT one
of his best shows. More sensationalism than good rock...the
surf board, the boxing ring, the rope act....come on Davy play
rock -n- roll. If I want to watch some one climbing ropes, I'll
go to the f*cking circus! I loved him with VH, but his EGO just
overwelms me.
Poison HAS potential. I can't wait to hear their next album!

| OK - I saw Poison and David Lee Roth last night at the Greenville
Memorial Auditorium, seats about 7K. Here's what I thought about
Poison:
They opened up with "Look What The Cat Dragged In", really kicked.
I was impressed actually, with the band, NOT C.C DeVille ! They
played the folowing songs, but not necessarily in this order -
I Won't Forget You
Fallen Angel
Nothin' But A Good Time
Talk Dirty To Me
Rock And Roll All Night (KISS)
** There's 2 more I can't think of **
And C.C. did a "solo". <insert a look of boredom *here*> It was
mentioned earlier that he did a take off on a Randy Rhodes solo,
and I believe Randy is doing double backflips in his grave. C.C.
had a few choice licks but every lick was followed by a lesson in
G string harmonics and dives ! Rikki didn't stand up as much as
I thought he would. Brett knew every little line to say to get
the Pamper wearers going crazy. When he did the band introduction,
he said the bass player was out there "moshing it up", and I was
thinking, my God, it's everywhere ! Overall, they were pretty good
as a band, a living testament to the fact that it takes everyone
to make a BAND, not individuals. None of these guys could hack
it solo but as a band I'll give 'em a steady thumbs up.
As for David Lee Roth, well that's another note .............

I got more of a kick watching the southern folks tryin' to act

with heat exhaustion, and broken bonz (it was a G/A show; won't

Well, I just picked up a copy of some metal magazine, and
there's an interview with Poison. I won't re-type the
whole thing, but here's a few (IMO) interesting bits and
pieces for ya. Some of these things I didn't even know...
Reprinted without permission from "Metal
Edge" Nov. 88...Article by Gerri Miller...
Gerri: Congratulations, Bret. Open Up and Sah Ahh is a
phenomenal success...
Bret: It went platinum the second day it was out. At
Musicland, which is one of the biggest chains in America,
it debuted at #1, which is higher than Michael
Jackson's or U2's albums....
************
Gerri: The Open Up album cover wasn't such a big hit with
some stores, though - they wouldn't stock it unless
it was changed, so the record company gave in. How
do you feel about that?
Bret: ...We could keep it the same,, but a lot of people who
want to buy the record can't get it because the chains
won't carry it. It's the fans that lose. It's
censorship and it's ridiculous.
************
Gerri: Unfortunately, the problems don't end there -- your
former managers have filed a $45.5 million lawsuit
against Poison accusing the band of some rather
ugly things.
Bret: Other bands used to slag Poison and now they're doing the
same thing, suing us because they say we have drug
problems and drinking problems. Let me put it th is way,
when we're done with this lawsuit Sanctuary is going
to wish they never opened their f*&kin' mouths because
when we tell the world what they really did to us, they're
gonna owe us money. They forged stuff,, they took
money from capital that wasn't theirs to take and
commissioned it. They f@#ked up,, period.
************
Gerri: Is the vibe different from last year?
Bret: ...I've been concentrating more on the show than on
partying. Last year I think I was trying to prove
how fast I could do everything and how many times I
could do it. This year the show comes first...Last
year we had firecrackers up our A#s, lots of energy
but no focus. This year we have the same amount of
energy but more of a direction.
***********
Gerri: What else has changed for Poison?
Bret: It's different this year. Radio, TV, press --
everyone is respecting Poison as a musical band
rather than some kind of flash in the pan pretty
boys that made it...Last year we tried to prove
ourselves. This year we still gotta prove ourselves
but we're much more focused on what we want to
accomplish with the band.

in the past, but her and her show hasn;'t gotten much better since
then (MO). She should just lety Steve Fister play all the leads,
she pales in comparison.
Poison was cool. They have a very polished act. CC was kinda lousy,
but the band had a good show overall.

The song they were using was Poison's latest

Your Mama Don't Dance.
One of the guys that called in said that he really
liked it because it had a good beat, even though
it sounded sort of 60'ish.

of "Your Mama Don't Dance". But do they really collapse off-stage
that often? And if so, are they so proud of it that they feel the
need to capture it on video after video? I'm curious.
I didn't like Poison when they first came out, because I normally
am wary of bands who look better in make-up than I do. Now that
I've listened to and watched them for a while I like their style.
I think there's something unique and quality about Poison.

Your average stuffy adult does, and that ruins it for

I caught one of their old videos a couple weeks ago on the

If you could see how much they have changed since then, I hardly
think anyone could call them 100% "posers". Not that they don't

| Taken from People magazine, September 3, 1990 issue without permission.
FLESH AND BLOOD - Poisen
In the two years since their 1988 smash "Open Up and Say... Ahhh!", the
boys have undergone some cosmetic changes. They've toned down the
heavy eye shadow, lipstick and the mercilessly teased coifs. According
to a record company publicist, the band is now concentrating on an
image of "harder metal, flatter hair."
From the sounds of this mind-numbing effort and the band's new look,
however, it's the other way around.
Their chart success and attention to fashion detail notwithstanding,
these glam rockers are no different from most of their peers. So it's
not suprising that there is barely one semicreative musical idea in
this whole package. On most songs you get some tired guitar riffs
pawned off as a melody, a solo consisting of shopworn flying-finger
techniques and a return to a forgettable chorus. Lead singer Bret
Michaels has just average pipes - if you've heard one caterwaul you've
heard them all - and guitarists like C.C. DeVille are a dime a dozen.
They create formulaic music that obviously sells, but c'mon, guys,
you're supposed to be one of the *better* metal outfits.
The slightly inspired, which is to say best, cuts include the bouncy
single "Unskinny Bop" and "Ride the Wind," which shows the band can mix
it up when they put as much of their hearts into their music as they do
their hips. But by the end of the last track, "Poor Boy Blues," the
preceding 50 minutes or so seem mostly like wasted time.

line (can't remember the *exact* words), but he's talking about street
people sleeping on a dowtown sidewalk under a flashing sign that says
"Jesus Saves". The words to this tune are GREAT ! It deals with a
vietnam vet trying to finds "something to believe in", and a good friend of
Brett Michaels who died in a hotel room on Christms eve.

They always pick the "commercial" stuff to release as singles,
because it encourages the "majority" to buy the album. When
you actually listen to some of these "glam metal" albums, you

off their first album (can't remember which one) and have
to admit, they HAVE improved over the years.
They've thrown away the majority of their hair spray,
eyeliner AND frilly clothes. Give 'em a break guys. I
find (IMHO) that when most people hear the name "Poison"
they immediately think of "Talk Dirty to Me" and NOT of
their recent stuff.
Most people say they enjoy a band's earlier stuff, Poison

quite a bit, but after listening to their albums, I gotta eat some
crow. I was watching some special on MTV with Poison, and they showed
some live footage that didn't flatter Mr. DeVille very much. BUT, the
album has some pretty good work. No, he's not going to be remembered
as a guitar great, and you probably won't find any of his "signature"
lix on a learn_to_burn tape, but the BAND will be known for a lot of
years. He falls into the same category as Mick Mars, he's not the
hottest player in the world, but da Crue is an *awesome* band !

just wondering...
Sometimes when I hear a C.C. solo it sounds like he tuned down,
slowed the tape down, played the solo (in pieces :-] ), and
then the tape is played back at normal speed, resulting a solo
that sounds pretty fast.
It just seems like sometimes his finger vibrato seems unnaturally fast
and also notes seem to decay too quickly. The overall result is
kind of a "chipmunk" effect.

Maybe he does that, but so what? Pretty much everyone does. He plays
the solos live....
Talk about overdubs and piecing solos together, George Lynch is about
the worst I've heard about that. Lots of his solos have notes from one
phrase that hang into the next one. I remember reading an interview
with Smith and Murry from Iron Maiden way back where they SAID they
pieced together their solos in the studio and had to learn how to play
'em later (I wouldn't have known...). This is nothing new, it's the
standard studio jive that everyone does.
Not that I'd really be one to stick up for CC or anything...but he
smokes me anyway, so what do I care?

A lot of guitarists piece together solos from a bunch of different
takes, but I think that virtually none slow the tapes down to play
the solos (bar CC?).
This, to me, is sort of a cheap and annoying trick. It gives the
impression that a guitar player is more technically skilled than
he actually is (cheap). It also introduces the "chipmunk"
effect (annoying).

| I heard that Rikki got tired of being on the road, and after Brett lost his
voice last week, he got fed up and flew back home.
I heard an acoustic version of "Something To Be Believe In" this morning -
anyone know if/where this is available??? It was really good, much better
than the studio version - it had totally different lyrics which just amazed
me, because they were much more mature, biting and emotional than I ever
expected out of these guys.....

Bobby Doll broke a few fingers so they could'nt finish the tour.

128.271 | POISON to take a pill! | HLDG00::SUTHERLAND | Lay your spirit down easy | Mon Jul 22 1991 06:41 | 19 |
| In an interview in RIP, Poison announced that they will be releasing a
new album ready to hit the Christmas market (CC as Santa?). The album
will include 4 never before heard studio tracks and an accoustic
version of one of the ballads from Flesh and Blood (can't remember
which). The band will then tour on the proceeds from this album for 5
or 6 months before taking a 6 month rest (dry out?).
Brett would then like to play with a hardcore Thrash band for a while,
as he has some 'angry' material that he thinks would be more
appropriate for this genre. Possible Slayer tie-in perhaps?
The rest of the band are awaiting offers from New Kids on the Block
management!
Oh, by the way, they really slammed Jani Lane of Warrant for his
attitude on the recent support for F&B tour.

128.273 | What is the point of all this! | HLDG00::SUTHERLAND | Lay your spirit down easy | Mon Jul 22 1991 10:47 | 18 |

Apparently it was an attitude problem! He thought that Poison should
be opening for Warrant! In fact, he apparently shouted to the audience
at the end of their (Warrant's) act something like "We are Warrant, the
next time you see us we won't be opening for these guys or for any other
band". He also caused some problems with the stage management!
The same/similar thing happened with Warrant on the DLR tour in Europe,
where they were booed off the stage!
I have never seen Warrant so I can't comment personally. But I am not
that keen on their music so this sort of thing would put me off seeing
them totally! I also think this giving away of cameras (snub at GnR)
at their show in the US, sounds pretty typical of them! Childish to
the extreme!

CC's guitar sound was the WORST! And that stupid pink hair, he
looked more like a clown then anything else. Played badly too. That's
an easy song to play (I can even do it) and he was up there screwing
up! Not only that, I was looking at his guitar cord going "Gee, he
should have run that through his strap or it'll get pulled out" and
about that time he hops on it and does exactly that. Then he's looking
around for it and all... HAHAHA!!!
He had a raft of Crate guitar cabs behind him, don't tell me he's using
their amps now too? And I thought those nasty Randalls were bad...

a background for the vocals, and in all honesty, there's nothing wrong

Ohmigod! Last night was the best night of my life!
I started the night as I normally do, getting all dressed
up in my nylons, mini-skirt, high heels and such. I was just
finishing putting on my makeup, when I heard that MTV was going
to be playing the BRAND NEW Poison Video!!! I was way psyched!
I ran into the bathroom, and hurried on my blush, lipstick and
hairspray. I ran to the livingroom to get ready for Bret and
the boys!!! When the video came on I started swooning all over
the livingroom, and when I saw Bret with his shirt off, I almost
passed out. What a wonderful song, with them big men playing
those instruments. They are so cool, and so origional, they had
a soulful choir singing backup vocals!! A novel idea!!!!
I can't wait for the tape to come out!!!!

was just my mood and my opinion will change when I hear it again, but I
actually sorta liked it. It wasn't your standard pop-metal stuff,
seemed strange and different for them. I'd be willin to give that song
a second chance.
