Well, there is a GOOD solo during 'Metal Heart' on the album
of the same name. I was blown away when I played it, be-
cause I was used to not hearing a (good) solo in their songs.
BTW, Balls to the Wall is my favorite by them.

| I bet I've heard 20 bands cover "Balls To The Wall" and every drunk
from here to there knows the chorus. One of my old bands did it
and we would always use it when the crowd was acting dead. I still
like hearing bands do that tune. I don't know anything about the
band past that album.

| Their singer has left and started his own band. His name is Udo
Dirkschneider and his new band is called Udo. Balls To The Wall
was a killer tune and the album was pretty solid overall. But
like it was already said the guitar solos were buried in the mix.
Midnight Mover on "Metal Heart" gets better as the db level increases!

show in the U.S. ever, at the Worcester Centrum. The I saw them
open up for Krokus at the Orpheum. Both shows were great!
Definitely a band with a ton of potential, and they will be missed.
Favorite Song: "London Leatherboys"!!!!

If you like Udo's voice, you ought to check out Metal Church.
The lead singer has a voice very similar. This band is very
heavy. Kind of like Accept but but with the HEAVY knob cranked
to the limit. Some real good songs, but again the guitar breaks
are a bit weak. But the crunch of the songs makes up for it.

Being a long time Accept fan and having all their material
I feel Restless and Wild and then Breaker are their best efforts.
Their catalog contains...
1)ACCEPT (German release)
2)ACCEPT (US Release all different songs)
3)BREAKER (German release has different version
of Son of a B*tch--much more vulger)
4)MIDNIGHT HIGHWAY (Compilation of 1st 3 lps)
5)RESTLESS AND WILD
6)BALLS TO THE WALLS
7)KAIZOU BAN (Live)
8)METAL HEART
9)RUSSIAN ROULETTE
I'm not sure if they are still together but I think
they are and will return with a new singer.

I could understand why people might not like his voice, it's really

As you know i purchased 'Eat The Heat' although before
seeing the video to 'Generation Clash' i had little thought of
following them any longer, since Udo, the Jorg and now Steffan
have left. Nothing will ever top 'Restless and Wild' as far as
i am concerned, still i have gone against my previous judgement
and got a copy and i like it although for me they are no longer
Accept but another heavy polished sounding commercial act. I like
the new singers voice though, perhaps they should be called POSTACCEPT,
or ACCEPT-TURNS-OVER-A-NEW-LEAF, try fitting that on an lp/cd/cassette
cover.

I bought 'Kaziouka Ban' after seeing Accept on their Russian Roulette tour,
my favourite track is "Up to the Limit" (off the Metal Heart album). I must
admit that of the 30 odd bands (only 30 they cry !), Accept were by far the
loudest and most powerfull, i only wish they had played more than just
'Fast as a shark' and 'Princess of the Dawn' off of Restless And Wild. Even
on the latter track there was none of the brilliant riff in the middle.

| I got last week a CD compilation from older Accept material named
"Metal masters". I think it is good only for die-hard fans. I was
disapointed by the production but there were some good ballads (yes I
said ballads) which proved Udo can sing mellower songs. Udo's voice was
not so rough at that time but was also less original. Also the typical
Accept heavy punching is missing.
Finally I enjoyed only the ballads (the rest sounding a little bit
old). I still like in exchange "Russian roulette" and the excellent
compilation from "Restless.. and Balls to the wall".

69.92 | 'tis true | LINGO::FAGG | Trampled Underfoot by the Ace of Spades | Thu Jul 09 1992 06:01 | 24 |
| I just got the latest copy of Metal Hammer (UK edition), and sure enough
there is an item in the News section, AND 3 page article in the main
body of the magazine.
The line up is the original one of:
Wolf Hoffman (guitar)
Peter Baltes (bass)
Stefan Kaufmann (drums)
Udo Dirkschneider (vocals)
They are working on new material, with an album tentatively scheduled for
the Autumn. Apparently, it is going very well. One member of the band is
quoted as saying:
"We're having such a good time. It's like it was in the days of 'Balls to
to the Wall'...The atmosphere is really creative."
It seems as though the reunion was prompted by numerous requests from
their fans.
Me? I can't wait.....
Keef.

Let`s hope they go back to the style of Restless and Wild as opposed
to Russian Roulette.

| I played that song for my parents once....I said "Listen to this nice
music" and then cranked it when I got to the scream. They thought
we were being invaded and FREAKED! I'm sure my Dad was having Nam
flashbacks and he wasn't even in THAT war. 8)
That's once of the reasons they REFUSE to listen to any of my
music anymore.

| When i wuz at school (which shows how old this song is),i had to "do"
an assembly, and it wuz something to do with Germany or folk music or
some such nonsense.
So i put "Fast As A Shark" as an example of authentic German folk
music. They were impressed for the 1st few seconds then i wuz told to
turn it off as the scream and guitars came in. Eeeeh, did i get
bollocked for that.

| Accept are back together and a new album is being recorded -
yeeeeeeeesssssss!
"OBJECTION OVERRULED" is due out in late January/February - it's
been recorded, produced and mixed by Accept and apparently the songs
on it are pure, classic Accept. It's the usual mixture of fast and slow
numbers - but Ah, who cares what it sounds like - I'm gonna buy it
anyway..

69.112 | Crap Review | PAKORA::FWATSON | Walkin' the white line | Thu Jan 28 1993 05:17 | 10 |
| Wow, the new album got reviewed and managed a massive
1 out of 5. Main objections to it appeared to be they didn't
come from Seattle and neither did they sound like Nirvanha/
Ministry. Instead it sounded like an Accept album which to
the reviewer meant it was dated, cliched(sic) early 80's rock
and therefore crap.
Release date of 2 Feb in the UK.

| Good question - unfortunately I'm one of those folks who
goes into the shop, reads the magazine on the shelf and then
walks out again. (Just doing my bit to wreck the worlds
economy!)
I guess one of them would be Metal Hammer
and if I remember properly they also carried
an interview with the band which was fairly reasonable. The
other magazine I can't remember - but I think it was one of the
ones selling CD's with it - probably MCD or RCD.
The albums out today but I blew the money on Pearl Jam and
Alice in Chains disks so I guess I'll have to wait another
week or so for it.
