Figured that I enter enough U-Mass Lowell notes in here to start a
separate topic.
Was a "good news/bad news" Saturday for the Chiefs. The bad news was
out of Schenectady, NY, where the Chiefs took it on the chin 55-16
against Union in the opening round of the NCAA Division 3 Playoffs.
Game was close for a while, but then Union broke it open and then put
it out of reach with 24 unanswered points in the second half. (MAC2 if
you're out there in Sports Notes land today, congrats and good luck to
the Dutchmen the rest of the way.)
On to the good news...the Chiefs won the NCAA Division 2 Cross Country
championship on Saturday, as Lowell runners finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Here's hoping the hockey season brings more good news...

How did the hockey team do against Kent State over the weekend ?
Also, does anyone have a schedule for the hockey and mens basketball
teams ?

RE: .0 Thanks for the congrats! I was feeling good about the 55 points the DUTCHMEN scored on Saturday, until I saw that St. John's (Mn) won their game 75-2 [maybe it was a typo!?) Anyway, the march to the Stagg Bowl continues next week v. Ithaca. GO UNION!! MAC2 Of course, the hockey team, for it's first season in Division 1 and ECAC is "O"fer, but at least had a couple competitive games, losing 7-5 to Hahvahd and 3-2 to Brown! | |||||
