| Some predictions ...
Las Vegas is going down. I don't know how or when but they're too big
not to crash and burn. The recent NCAA tournament roadside is littered
with the debris of other top-ranked and supposedly unbeatable teams like
1983 Phi Slamma Jamma, 1985 Georgetown, 1988 Oklahoma, and so on.
They're gonna take the big fall and Tark's gonna boogie outta Sin City
when the tumbleweeds clear.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will give the Indiana Hoosiers all they
can handle and then some. I expect the Hoosiers to prevail just barely
but the Chants will run them ragged in doing so.
Richmond lives to beat teams like Syracuse. Again, I'm not bold enough
to predict an outright upset but, just in case it does happen, I'll get my
"I told ya so" response all cooked up and ready to serve.
Princeton against Villanova is a dream matchup of coaches. Pete Carrill
against Rollie Massimino. Brain cells galore. Villanova has the talent
edge but Rollie will no doubt remind the Cats just how deadly Princeton
can be. This should be an orgy of classic, old-fashioned give-and-go and
back door plays. Shame it has to be played in the Carrier Dome. This
matchup screams "Palestra".
Rodney Monroe and Chris Corchiani can carry NC State as far as Dennis
Scott and Kenny Anderson took Georgia Tech last year. The similarities
are eerie.
East Tennessee State is the dark horse of the entire dance card. No way
they should have gotten a No. 10 seed. If Mister Jennings is on, they
can get by Iowa and then give Duke fits. If Hurley plays as poorly
against Jennings as he did against an inferior King Rice, Duke is toast.
Nebraska will be history before too long. Any school that claims Dave
Hoppen as one of its all-time best players won't stick around very long.

| Bob,
I like the 'nova-princeton matchup too. A great coaching matchup, and
the carier dome will not do it justice.
And just think, providing Dean's ALl-Stars get by the Hounds of
Huntington Ave. - the Starheels (TM) will have to play the winner of
Nova-Princeton. A classic matchup - Superior talent and inferior
coaching with UNC, vs. superior coaching and less talent (and inferior
talent with the Tigers...)
Caint wait.
I think the bracket out west that has Seton Hall vs. Pepperdine and
Creighton vs. New Mexico State will be one of the best. Look for
Pepperdine to hang touch, and State and Creighton to have a good one.
I look forward to a State/Hall matchup - which will be a great game.
Possible upsets I see happening early: So. Mississippi over NC State,
Temple over Purdue, UCONN over LSU, Wisc. Green Bay over Mich State,
BYU over Virginia...

him as a forward {without listing anyone as a center}. I picked him for
my list as a center though.

117.7 | Your choice, I guess | WORDY::NAZZARO | Princeton to the Final Four!!! | Wed Mar 13 1991 10:07 | 9 |
| In UCLA's scheme, they don't use a center - they announce three guards
and two forwards in their starting line-up (McLean and Murray up front,
with Madkins, Butler, and Martin as the three guards).
But if they were to line up as a conventional team, they would have
Butler and Murray at forward, McLean at center, and Madkins and Martin
at the guards.

Okay, here are the standings, but missing two vital pieces of information:
I need the points scored by Mark Randall and Terry Brown for Kansas in the
championship game. It won't affect the winner, because King had Brown
and Laettner and Smith had only Laettner... but I'd like to make it final.
Special congrats to JD who might have taken the whole enchiliada had he not

You could go back to last year's requirements of 2 centers, 3 forwards,

No thanks.. I spent too much time last year deciding whether Todd Day
was a forward or guard, etc. What position is Grant Hill? Jamal
Mashburn?
And the mix of players by position is pretty close - the most listed
players are 2 forwards, 2 guards, and 2 centers.
