I am running OpenVMS V6.1 w/PCM V1.5-002.
I execute CONSOLE MONITOR node_name command. At the Command: prompt, I
enter SELECT.
From this point on, the character echo on my terminal is messed up.
It appears that the echo does not "keep up" with my typing, and
even gets out of sync with my typing.
This porblem does NOT appear to take place with the CONSOLE CONNECT
command. Just by executing the SELECT command from the Command:
prompt in the character cell interface.

sorry for the delay in responding, but I have been on leave and Phil is
up to his ears in things.
Can you give me more detail on platform version etc. I just tried a select
on my ULTRIX PCM system and I don't see the problem.
