******************* THIS MEMO IS FROM BOB HUGHES *************************

On Monday, August 12, at 1:00 PM (EST) I will be talking to you via the DVN
network program, "SALES FOCUS." This is a new monthly program dedicated to
key issues for account selling teams. We have successfully piloted this
program over the past four months and I would like to thank the sales sites
who have participated. Now we are opening this program up for the entire
U.S. Sales organization to participate. I encourage you to call in with
your questions and to use this opportunity to establish a dialogue with me.

I will be presenting much the same messages I talked about when I addressed
account managers in Dallas in July. I'll be talking about the vision, the
challenge, the plan, and what I think it means to all sales people, and
what results we are looking for. I will then open it up for your questions
and comments.

The live broadcast will be seen on August 12th, with a rebroadcast on
August 19th for those who miss August 12th. However, the broadcast on
August 19th is a taped show and therefore you will not be able to take
advantage of the call-in.

You may want to contact your site manager to find out the conference room
that will be showing the broadcast in your area. Here's the schedule:

August 12 - LIVE
August 19 - TAPED

   1:00 PM Eastern
  12:00 PM Central
  11:00 PM Mountain
  10:00 PM Pacific

So mark your calendars. I look forward to talking with you on August 12.

31.2How do we get DVN?AUNTB::WALLACEDavid Wallace, DWT, Winston-Salem, NCSun Aug 18 1991 18:4412
With monthly communications via DVN now planned by Bob as indicated in
.1, plus the potential for reducing expenses via DVN training, are
there corresponding plans to further role out DVN connections to the
locations that do not yet have it?

Folks in our office now have a 3+ hour round trip to get to and from a
DVN-equipped site. This makes the time investment more difficult to
justify, as the travel must typically be made in "prime time" from a
    selling standpoint.

    Regards,
    David.
31.3Also RemoteCSOA1::DUNLAVEYThu Aug 22 1991 17:357
I will second David's comment. We have a 4.5 hour drive to a DVN site.

An alternative for smaller, remote offices might be rapid distribution
to those offices of a video tape of the DVN.

    regards,
    Bob

Sue, the DVN broadcasts are available through

   VTX AVCatalog

Using the menu, searches can be done by description, i.e., DVN,
Sales Focus, or by new titles which would list the latest DVN
broadcast tapes as they are produced.

I found the last one by choosing New Titles and it came up as,

From ROSE ANN GIORDANO
===========================================================================

Dear Colleague:

You're in an excellent position to increase sales of high margin products
and services by fulfilling your customer's need for System and Network
Management solutions.

Our POLYCENTER(tm) products meet this need, and and the U. S. Upside
Program is rolling out a major awareness campaign to help you close
business.

On April 14, the Digital Video Network will broadcast news of our
POLYCENTER solutions to IS professionals across the nation.
Simultaneously, we'll activate a communications plan designed to build
awareness of Digital's presence in this marketplace and give full
visibility to the excellence of our solutions.

A special promotion to encourage multiple product purchases will "top off"
a long list of sales support and awareness activities: direct mail,
telemarketing, customer seminars, trade shows, and advertising.

The DVN broadcast will outline our System and Network Management strategy
and announce large scale additions to our POLYCENTER portfolio; including
new services and exciting third-party relationships.

U. S. Marketing will provide full support for the DVN: preprinted and
prestuffed invitations, registration logistics, local advertising coop
funds, food service, reimbursement allowances, posters, and follow up.
Upside Drivers, Field Marketing Specialists, and PSSLs will be among those
working to make certain the DVN helps you.

For more information on how you can leverage this effort in your accounts,
please contact one of the people listed below.

I look forward to your enthusiastic support for this campaign.

Yours truly,

Rose Ann Giordano
Vice President, U.S. Marketing

Dear Information Services Professional:

On Tuesday, April 14, 1992 at 1:15 p.m. EST, you and your colleagues across
the United States are invited to participate in an event so significant, it
warrants a live, multi-link satellite broadcast.

During this two-hour broadcast, Digital will announce a set of new and
enhanced system management products and services. Collectively called
POLYCENTER, these tools help you automate your system and network management
tasks, whether your computing environment is distributed or centralized,
single- or multi-vendor.

POLYCENTER products and services take advantage of Digital's Enterprise
Management Architecture and deliver a range of solutions to address:

o ADMINISTRATION -- job scheduling, disaster recovery
                 planning, information storage and archiving.

o SECURITY -- access control, user monitoring, network
                 security, encryption.

o PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT -- capacity planning, resource
                 scheduling, system and network monitoring.

o FAULT MANAGEMENT -- centralized console services, alarm
                 management, monitoring of network objects.

o CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT -- automatic job scheduling,
                 programmed backup, network topology control.

o ACCOUNTING -- tracking resources used, billing and
reporting, monitoring usage across multiple objects.

As our guest on April 14, you'll have a chance to see and hear IS experts as
they candidly discuss significant advances in operations management.

                                                 [two-sided] over, please ...

Broadcast live from Boston, Digital's POLYCENTER announcement will be beamed
over the Digital Video Network (DVN) to convenient locations across the United
States. At each location you will find an excellent meeting facility with
large-screen video and comfortable seating. Telephones will be available to
make it easy for you to pose questions to our panel of experts during the
broadcast.

This exclusive two-hour program will be broadcast only once on Tuesday, April
14, 1992 at 1:15 p.m. EST. To reserve your seat at this information-packed
event, choose the location that's most convenient for you and call

				SALES FOCUS DVN

                             MONDAY, APRIL 20, 1992

                            1 - 2 P.M. EASTERN TIME

Sales Focus is a monthly DVN series I host which addresses current sales
and sales support issues. The next program is scheduled for Monday, April
20, from 1 - 2 p.m. EDT.

Most of you in Sales and Sales Support have not had much one-on-one time
with me on the past few Sales Focus DVNs. Therefore I am making most of
this month's Sales Focus time available for you to call me with your
questions or discuss issues that are on your mind. I will not have a guest
with me on this telecast to allow ample time for your calls. In addition
to our dialogue, I will be talking to you about our Q3 performance.

Some sites in Massachusetts will be closed on Monday for the Patriot's Day
holiday. Video tapes will be available 48 hours after the telecast.
Information on obtaining these tapes can be found on VTX AVCATALOG.

Please contact your local site manager to find out the conference room that
will be showing the broadcast in your area. For general information about
this program, contact Maureen Valley at DTN 245-5176 or area code
508-869-5167.

I hope you'll be an active participant in this DVN.

Subject: IMPORTANT: DON ZERESKI DVN - APRIL 15, 1992

As we committed during the FY'92 U.S. Mid-Year "Town Meetings", which
were held the week of February 3, 1992, Don Zereski and the U.S. Team
are sponsoring a communications event to update all U.S. employees on
current business conditions, plans and programs.

    On April 15, 1992 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST., there will be a DVN
program broadcast live from the Marlboro, Massachusetts cafeteria.
This will be the first time one of Don's quarterly "Cafe Talks" is
broadcast live via DVN. These "Cafe Talks" have been a part of Don's
ongoing communications efforts to give employees the most recent
    information about current business issues.

Your feedback during the Mid-Year Meetings indicated that meeting both
in person and via DVN is a good method of communicating current
information about the business. As with the Mid-Year Meetings, ample
time will be left for Questions and Answers from the audience in
Marlboro as well as from the DVN sites around the country.

Please make an effort to participate in this DVN at a site convenient
to you. If the timing is not convenient, a video tape of the
broadcast will be made available through the Corporate Audio Visual
    Library.

We look forward to sharing information and answering your questions on
    April 15.
