897.0. "Crop Circles" by CHEFS::FIDDLER_M (The sense of being dulls my mind) Tue Jul 16 1996 10:20

Theres a cool Corn/Crop Circle just by the A339 halfway between
Basingtsoke and Kingsclere. As you drive from Bstoke, its on the left,
by the last hill before the Kingsclere Farm (where they do the ice
cream). Its easy to spot the place by the cars weaving all over the
road as drivers try to peer across at it...

    Any others appearing hereabouts?

Sorry - its one of those mornings...

Oh dear! Some other poor farmer has had his crop ruined by some
childish pratt who seems to think it fun, artistic and "COOL" to
trample down acres of hard grown cereals.

Ah! Well, it's not my field; why should I care.

Actually - it was the guys working on the farm who did it....
and I'd hardly call it acres...

Well - there was talk of a low flying green object, piloted by a
strange tall being, but..nnaahhhhh...don't believe it... ;-)

How do you know it was the people working the farm??? Was there some
report or newaspaper article - I never heard that they knew who did it
only that it had happened - bloody clever though - totally symetrical -
amazing!!! How do they do that then???

Well, I stopped and had a nose about, but I guess the bloke I spoke to
could have been winding me up. I think that another smaller one has
    since appeared nearby.

Oddly enough, when I got back to my car, my wristwatch was three minutes
behind the clock on the car...

...and there have been some odd noises in Kingsclere in the small hours
    recently...

Probably someone fiddling (Pi) with a wristwatch.

I think .7 may be closer to the truth than he thought!

It always amazes me that most of these crop circles are visible from
roads. Lots of places that are not visible from a "real" road seem not
    to suffer from the circles.

Maybe ther are just the intergalactic portal onto the UK road network.

I always thought that crop circles were only distinguishable from the
    air.

Have the observations in this note been made by motorists flying
through the air, having left the road due to lack of concentration
    (studying crop circles while driving!)

    				Jus' curious!
