| Yes, if you can include Liz you can include Fergie as they come from
adjacent villages. I think looking at the villages may result in more
people, what about Major Ronald Ferguson who still actually lives in
Dummer. Then there's Malshanger, doesn't Lord/Earl whoeveris that is
boss of Colman as in mustard ?

infamous Lucan murder, mistaken (allegedly) by Lord Lucan for
his wife. Perhaps this was an inappropriate entry for this topic

| And then of course there was Jane Austen. Her father was the
rector at Steventon (out Overton way) and she (b 1775) went
often to Basingstoke for Assemblies (Dances). Much of her books
would have been based upon experience in the area, where she
lived, if I remeber rightly, until 1801.
She wouldn't care much, to say the least, for modern Basingstoke.

Yes, it is the same Paul Chambers, only I am not so sure he played for
Portsmouth for long if at all, I think I got him mixed up with Lee
someone or other who did play for Portsmouth for at least a couple of
seasons......... it's been a long week.

I think that you are scraping the barrel for celebrities here. No
offence to the noble & learned Lord but Whitchurch is about 15 miles from
Basingstoke. At this rate you will be including anyone in Reading, Winchester,
Aldershot etc etc

I too think a) it's scraping the barrel and
2) it's going too far out, but I was just replying to .21
So, what's the radius of the 'Basingstoke' area, in terms of valid
celebrities living in said area. (BTW. Whitchurch has a Basingstoke
STD code, so we can't use that).
