326.0. "Trip to Air-Race at Shobden" by SHAPES::BOARDMANK (Aeros gliding pigs honk quietly) Thu Jul 12 1990 15:16
Hi,
I am considering flying from Salisbury (Old Sarum) to Shobden in
Shropshire to watch an air-race sponsored by Digital. The most significant
race in the calendar is obviously the Schneider Trophy, but Digital
does sponsor all events in the UK.
I don't have details yet, but I believe participants will arrive on
Saturday 18th August, and race on the 19th. Subject to weather,
availability of a plane, and permission to land at Shobden, I plan to be
there on the 19th. Travel time between Salisbury and Shobden should be
around one hour each way.
I am a pilot member of the Wiltshire Aeroplane Club, and will rent one
of their planes for the day. This will either be a 3 or a 4 seater,
but I will only fill one of the seats!
Is anyone interested in coming along? If so, feel free to call me or
mail me. (Keith Boardman @UCG, SHAPES::BOARDMANK, 7833.3939)
Cheers...Keith

Salop -:)

| I shall take due consideration of your correction in my navigating.
Does it look any different from the air?

| Old Sarum is grass too, so is Popham. That's where I normally fly from.
