		Flight Experience for the Handicapped
		=====================================

(Mr Moderator, I trust this does not contravene any policy or convention
regarding the use of VAXnotes - if so, please mail me at SHAPES::BOARDMANK)

Many worthy charities collect large sums of money on an ongoing basis for
the care of underprivileged, undernourished or handicapped people. In the
past I have supported many efforts in these directions through the Round Table
Organisation. However, I am personally interested in giving handicapped
people, in particular, life experiences that they would not receive without
charitable support. I refer to adventure holidays and the like.

I have planned a summer vacation project to collect money to give as many
physically handicapped people as possible the opportunity to experience the
joy of flight in a light aircraft. I also hope that Digital will benefit
from publicity linking a charitable cause with aviation. In the UK we are
already well known in aviation circles through sponsorship of air racing.

Specifically, I intend to attempt a long-distance walk along a 270 mile/
400 km route in the UK, known as the Pennine Way. I am looking for
sponsorship on a per mile/per kilometre basis. If successful, I should
complete this walk by 24th June, at which time I shall request any money
that has been pledged.

It is possible that Digital will match your donations on a $ for $ basis,
but I cannot seek agreement for this until the FY91 charity budget is approved!

Through this notes topic I will advise you on how much money has been
pledged, and subsequently collected. I will also give you details on how
the money is spent.

Feel free to comment, as replies to this note or mail me on SHAPES::BOARDMANK
if you are interested in further information.

				Cheers...Keith
