If you want cheap disks, there is a place that strictly speaking isn't open to
callers. Opposite Argos, there is a three storey block of offices, and this
place is somewhere in a labyrinth of offices. I can't remember the name I'm
afraid.

For computers, try the shop in the Chineham Shopping Centre. Looks like it might
be quite good.

Cheers.

The shop in Chinehm is P & H Electronics phone: 28588.
They sell ATARI and AMIGA machines plus a fair selection of software
both games and 'Serious'. They are also quite willing to order you
    anything they haven't got.

Make sure you get the right guy - only one person in that shop seems
to be technical. I worry about a shop that sells computers and
    washing machines!!

Ahhhh, brings back memories of trying to write Defender on a 16K TRS-80
with a tape drive. Wondering if the tape will actually manage to load!

    P.S. Anyone want to buy a TRS-80 ?

I buy my blank disks in Chineham, but they stock very little software.
The price of it is also much more than through mags, ie. Batman
    24.95, I got it for 7.00.

For computer software you could try Just Tapes at the top of the
town near the old town hall. They seem to do loads of games for
    most formats.

Haven't seen any serious software there though.

254.11Primary Business ServicesTASTY::NISBETObviously a major malfunctionMon Sep 03 1990 12:0121
A backhanded recommendation for Primary Business Services.

Tel: 811456. You'll get Nigel Park or Carl sumbdy. Carl is a bit of a smoothie,
uses your name more often than an IBM salesman.

They deal a lot with IBM PC/clone upgrades. Their prices match or undercut
the cheapest you'll find in computer magazines.

I haven't actually bought anything from them. I tried to, but the memory
upgrade card I got wouldn't talk to my PC. They tried it in another PC
and it worked. They lent me another one. It didn't. Some basic incompatibilty
problem between my PC and the card.

If I'd bought this mail-order, I'd probably be trying unsuccesfully to get my
money back. The card works ok - but not in my PC.

Their office is above Porters Wine Bar in Viables Craft Centre. What impressed
me was the fact they gave me the card to go away and try out. They'll give you
lots of advice if you 'phone them. Jolly nice chaps.
