245.0. "Tailor for clothing adjustments" by CURRNT::GARSON () Mon Dec 18 1989 17:54

    Anybody know a good tailor in Basingstoke who does clothing
    adjustments or have an idea of how much it costs (which obviously
    depends on the garment and how dramatic the change is)?

    Depending on what you want done, try your local dry cleaners.
    I believe Sketchley do a fair amount of alteration work.

    Chesterfields in Winchester street are OK, I used them to have some
    alterations made to suit a while back. Good Service and good results.

    Derek,

    eat more (or less) as required. It's a lot more fun than having
    your clothes adjusted and cheaper too, if it's less that you require!

245.4That's it. Eat more.CURRNT::GARSONWed Dec 20 1989 17:406
    Unfortunately, it would be eating *more* that is required. I bought
    the clothes in question soon after returning from an extended (and
    extending) visit to Italy.

    I was hoping it would be more economical to have the clothes adjusted
    :-).

    It's close to Town Centre too!

    I have my Suit Trousres altered here - He's cheap, quick and good.
    I couldn't believe only #3-50 for each pair!!

245.6Went to SketchleysCURRNT::GARSONFri Jan 05 1990 18:166
    I had already had the work done before reading .-1 unfortunately.

    I went to Sketchleys. They charged 5.65 for a trouser length
    adjustment. The results seemed OK. However, they insisted on dry
    cleaning the trousers as well for an extra 2.85 (total 8.50).
    As it happens the trousers were seriously in need of a clean anyway.
