I recall seeing a notice in VTX Livewire recently regarding a sale of
excess/surplus equipment/furniture at the Westfield facility. I think
it was posted the day before the sale, and gave the details of how the
sale would be managed, hours, directions, etc.

If the prices were in line with those of the now-defunce PDC store, they're
lower -- sometimes substantially -- than those of used office furniture
outlets.

FWIW, recycling out defective electronic equipment back through the
"system" is not in Digital's best interests. For example: You buy a used
Decmate II and decide to lump it into your "service contract" so you phone
the local office and add it to the list. The problem is, this particular
piece of equipment has already been deemed scrap. Now that equipment winds
up back in the repair loop. BAD BUSINESS!
It is my understanding that the folks who set up the recent sale were
unaware of Digital's policy of destroying such equipment to prevent it from
getting back into the repair loop and were summarily told to shut down
their sale once the word got out.
