I wouldn't. I drive an old heap so I can pay my son's tuition. But I
know more than a few parents who say they can't afford tuition but have
all the "toys" they want. It's all a matter of priorities. You pay for
the things that are important to you. Right now sales is pretty
important to this company. Should we cut back on sales?

I find that answer somewhat insulting to the thousands of people who
generated $3,015,000,000.00 in revenue in Q1.

| I find this line of reasoning ABSURD!!!
Name ANY company of ANY substance that doesn't have a COE-like program
for sales. I didn't go this past year, I only brought in >$5M in
revenues, $1M over budget, with a profit of approx $700k (if the
reports I've seen bear any semblence to reality). You want to see
virtually every Digital sales person leave? Go ahead, convince someone
that COE (actually, DECathlon, which was sales-only, still struck me as
a better program) should be cut as a cost-savings effort.
This would have a very negative impact...

Seems like I saw this same story last year. Our successful sales
persons are equal to any in the industry and as such should be
recognized for their overachievement. An opportunity to participate in
COE is what drives that extra revenue at the end of Q4 for sales
persons in competition with their peers. Part of selling is pride of
winning and COE recognizes both consistant and over achievement.

| The problem with COE is not that it spends money, or recognises
deserving folks (sales or otherwise), but the selection process can be
'managed' or 'engineered'. I once had a DM that managed to get himself
to COE two years in a row. Does he care about customer satisfaction,
etc, etc?
