| Tom, you've got to get used to the mountains. They've relaxed the
wording of the memo. In my 6 years out there, it was always worded
"Rattle Snake Alert" and cautioned about walking in the grasses around
the plant. Are they really saying they'll trap the bull snakes now?

| Moose Alert! These rather large creatures can be found wandering
about the property. Although normally docile, they have been known
to charge automobiles. Pay attention to the large number of folks
'from away' (tourists) that suddenly stop in the middle of the
highway and get out of their vehicles to snap photographs.

They are out for ALL snakes. When leaving Friday, the guard was trying to
find a stick to move what he considered a baby rattler. I went over and
looked at it and it was a garter snake. A couple other people also confirmed
it was a garter snake.
For pete's snake! Don't they give Security any classes on snake ID's? ;-)

851.21 | Rats in the Cellar? | CSC32::METZLER | Hey! No Problem... | Thu Jul 27 1989 01:38 | 15 |
| Everyone in Network Support out here in Colorado has heard at one time
or another, different versions of the story about the Field Engineer
who was crawling under the raised floor in the computer room on the
first floor at the Mill.
Word has it that he was investigating problems with the coax segment
for Ethernet under the machine room floor, and suddenly panels in the
floor exploded as the FE jumped from below screaming "it stood on it's
hing legs and growled at me!"
Supposedly a 2 foot long warf rat was chewing on the cable (keep in
mind the raised floor that he stood up under is probably only 12"
high).
Is this a DEC myth, or did it really happen?

| I worked in the mill from 1964 to 1971. Some strange things were
there, but never a 2-foot rat. An 8-inch rat I'd believe.
