    SILICON REALITY AT DIGITAL
--Exhibit to Open in Hudson, MA

The fourth exhibit of Digital's Historical Collection Program will
officially open on Friday, April 28, from 2:00-4:00 in the lobby
of Digital's HLO2 facility, Hudson, MA. All employees are invited
    to attend.

Bob Palmer, Vice-president and Group Manager, Semiconductor Operations,
will inaugurate the exhibit, which details VLSI history at Digital
since 1972. The exhibit includes the art of VLSI design, the
significant contribution of CAD tools and the history of chip
    manufacturing process advancements.

Employees are welcome to visit the other exhibits sponsored by the
Historical Collection Program. The lobby of MRO2 (Marlboro, MA)
houses an exhibit on Digital business and product history since
1957, and the history of the VAX family of computers is displayed
in the lobbies of Digital's Boxboro facilities, BXB1 and BXB2.

Now, if all Digital employees were *required* to attend..

Does anyone know exactly where the other three exhibits are and what they
contain? (Obviously one is at the Mill, I'd guess there's another one in
Marlboro somewhere -- I'm looking for exact details as in .0 for each of
the other three.)

/john

P.S.: The exhibit in the HLO2 lobby is worth seeing, but not worth a special
trip.

Re: .0

There are some terminal and printer products in the lobby of DSG1 in
Westford, Mass., but I don't know whether they're part of the collection.

There is an exhibit in the lobby of LTN1. It is a recreation of a circa
1965 mill office, complete with oily floors, wooden bookcases, and old
manuals and modules. The spider isn't real.

There are small exhibits in the lobbies of BXB1 and BXB2.

The biggest one I have seen is in the lobby of MRO2.

    Yes, check out LDP::DEC_HISTORY.

But the largest exhibit on Digital's product and business history
since 1957 is in the lobby of MRO2, Marlboro, MA.

Any questions, send me a mail- I manage the Historical Collection

The exhibit in MR02 might be worth a visit if you're in the area. I
was blown away the first time I saw it. Very professional ... actually
better layout than the Boston Computer museum. In my humble opinion.

The lobby of MRO2 was the location of The Computer Museum before it moved
to Boston.
