319.2 | Have the statements gone out yet? | MSDSWS::DANTONI | Gaitan D'Antoni | Wed Jun 24 1987 00:55 | 8 |
| Back in January there was a discussion about missing statements. I had
to make two phone calls to IS before I finally got mine, sometime in
March. I still haven't received my statement for the June 1 purchase.
Has anyone received their June statement yet? Is it time to start
calling IS again?
Thanks,
Gaitan

Well I've got mine - it arrived about July 13 or 14 postmarked July
10 but of course the statement of ownership was as of June 1 thus
ignoring a couple of transactions I did after June 1 but before
July 10.
The real question should not be whether some people are having a
mail problem (DEC can't control that anyway) but why the **** it
took about 5 and 1/2 weeks to get a statement in the mail in the
first place.
I have dealt with IS for much of my 14 + years with DEC. The value
(read availability) of the touch tone system ranges from 'good'
(when there isn't much reason to need it) to 'terrible' (whenever
there is action to be had) so I usually try to get through about
twice then send my transaction to them by EM. That always has worked
- it is a little precarious because you really have no way to know
if they even got it!
I had a running battle with them about a year ago - I basicly said
that I thought they were providing brokerage services and would
expect them to have to meet the same requirements (for timeliness
and access etc) as a real brokerage. Boy did they make a bunch
of real legalese replys then.
Ya just gotta wonder - does Ken Olsen have to wait as long as we
do? If not, why? If so, why?

| OK - does anyone from Investor services read this notesfile?
We don't expect a defense, just acknowledgement that a problem
exists, and that perhaps you'll look into it...
Barring that, anyone know who to call?

Don't bother, I tried calling the administration and
got a tele-droid. It went like this:
"Investor Services."
"Yes, I just spoke with my personel rep and changed my address
and since I sold some stock this past Monday I was wondering
if Investor Services would be sending it to the new address
or the old one and she didn't know and suggested that I call
here to ask you to change the address in your system instead
of waiting for the system to enter it since it might take
a few days and the check might be sent to the wrong address."
"We can't do that, you'll have to have it changed by your
Personel rep."
"Goodbye."
Click.

I got tired of waiting for mine a couple of weeks ago.
Called the investor services number. Told them I was expecting
my first statement and was wondering whether there was a problem.
They confirmed my address and I had it 3 days later.
