| Does anyone have a good (cheap) source of capacitors to use in the
circuit shown in .20.
Also will .20 work for a delta wired motor?
Thanks

| Try any electric motor shop,or an industrial supplier like Grangers.
Motor caps are rather cheap- I think the one in my 3 phase box was $5.
I have been told there are major internal differences in caps labeled as
'start' vs those for 'run'. Apparenly using a start cap in a circuit
for full time, not just for a few seconds of starting, will blow it. I
guess they are made with poor insulation and thus to much internal
resistance and they overheat.

| Take a look at http://tbr.state.tn.us/~wgray/howto/ph-conv/ph-conv.html
for information about phase converter circuits. (There may already
be a pointer to this in a previous note, I didn't check.)
If you're anywhere near Clinton, Mass, go visit Clinton Electric
Motor Repair, or some such name, at 140 Brooks St. They have used
3-phase motors of all sizes, from cheap to not-so-cheap depending
on how much investment they have in them. They'll also sell you
capacitors. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place, but I've found
them to be quite good.

| ...and in the UK, I would probably start with Yellow Pages and "Electric Motors".
No personal experience of this, I'm afraid.
