1589.0. "Keep getting dropped" by NSDC::SIMPSON (A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers) Wed Oct 18 1989 10:29
Re-direct me if this has been discussed here before - I'm almost sure that it
has....
I'm using the DECwindows implementations of VAX Notes and VAX mail on a remote
node, with my workstation acting as display medium.
Problem: I keep getting dropped (in fact it just happened again - as I was
writing this). For no apparent reason (I'm not usually doing anything special
like manoeuvering windows etc.) I lose the connection. The workstation becomes
unusable for between 15 seconds and 2 minutes, before recovering (minus
the application that I was running).
Error:
IO: non-translatable vms error code: 0x2DBA002, vms message:
%decw-e-cnxabort, connection aborted
%XLIB-F-IOERROR, xlib io error
My guess would be that some network parameter needs modifying. Any suggestions?
Cheers
Steve Simpson

| This used to happen to me, until I used the AUTOGEN procedure with FEEDBACK.
Since then, I have not had any problems.
