You Are My Friends
                             ==================

                                 WOMEN'S DAY
                         Saturday, March 27th, 1993

       We live in a society where friendships are often pursued, but rarely
   found. Many relationships have broken down...within the family, with
   neighbors, with co-workers.

       We find ourselves desensitized to our own needs and unable to meet the
   needs of those around us. Yet, the reality remains. We need friendships.
   Neglecting our friendships will leave us very lonely women in a cold and
   hostile world.

       Jesus wants us to be his friends. He wants us to build great
   friendships with the people in our lives. Please join us as we let Jesus
   redefine what friendship really means.

Salem Cinemas in Salem NH is running a series of Christian oriented films
during the last week of the month (I think). I'll stop into my local Christian
bookstore tonight or tomorrow and get the schedule and post it here. One of
the films is Jesus.

Perhaps we could get a bunch of us together to attend?

Your's truly (that's me) will be part of the drama,

keep the beard a while afterwards.) Now will this
scare some of you away? Which?

If you can't see me do my stuff as Peter, we'll be doing
another Psalty program (our fourth, because of the response)
in June. Watch for details. "We're going camping, now.
We're on our way!" (But they are significantly different
roles that I hope you'll come and introduce yourself to me
after the cantata. You won't be able to miss me: I'm the
loud one.

A free will offering (or whatever you were predesinted to give)
will be accepted (I believe as part of the "regular" service).

Re:  13.20

We had the dress rehearsal last night for the Cantata and
I know that God has blessed us. There are about
80 people involved in this production (at least there were
about 80 there last night).

Last year's Easter Cantata was one of the most moving
experiences in the life of our church and, if last night is
any indication, I think that this Cantata will be a blessing
for all who attend. God has blessed us with such talented
and dedicated singers and actors. Thank you, LORD!

Consider coming; you'll be glad you did.

Oh, yeah Collis!?  ;-)

Well, go on Friday, folks to the Nashua church and Sunday to the Lowell
Church. We've got 80 or so people involved, and, and, I know all my lines.
(Actually, when one is in it, one cannot fully guage the impact, but I'm
told that the feelings Collis expressed were evident from undressed rehearsals.
Dress rehearsal is on Saturday, and I think people can come to see it -
which is when our Nursery workers, etc get their opporunity.)

Mark  :-)
13.27TLE::COLLIS::JACKSONRoll away with a half sashayWed Apr 07 1993 12:2717
I discovered last year that the scope of the cantata is
so much greater than simply what the choir (which I'm
in) does. It wasn't until the dress rehearsal last year
that I had a clue about what kind of acting was being
done - and then I only got to see about 1/4 of it because
of our singing responsibilities and poor angle. It wasn't
actually until the performance on Good Friday that the impact
was evident. I heard (and believe) that it was the best
musical ever done by our church. The performance on Sunday,
which usually has a smaller crowd, was overflowing as so
many people either came back or shared the experience
with others.

It's the first time I'd ever seen Jesus nailed to the cross
and crucified (hung) there.

    A half a million residents in Massachusetts, including 200,000 children

    Since the recession began, Mass. has lost about 400,000 jobs - more
    than 12% of our state's jobs. Underemployment today is also a
    staggering problem. MAny families are struggling to get by on
    drasticall reduced incomes.

    In 1992 the Walk for hunger provided ciritcal funding to 424 emergency
    programs which provided more than 14 million emergency meals to hungry
    poeple throughout Mass. An unprecedented number of programs (80
    programs in the last year) have turned for the first time to Project
    Bread - The Walk for Hunger for desparately needed funding.

                      Ways you can help the hungry!

    asking for pledges and Walking for Hunger!

    2) SPONSOR! If you can't walk, take a big step and sponsor a walker.

    3) VOLUNTEER! Volunteers make it happen. Be one of the 3,000 energetic

Good morning my Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Some time ago, three of us, Phyllis Boisvert, Bob Goodson and myself,
sensed a call from the Lord to bring a small light into Valuing of
Diversity, defining our lifestyle as Christinas. TODAY marks the lighting
of that light in DEC.

We are excited about what is happening, feeling the movement of God's hand
in every step along the way. Seeing Him knock down walls that stood
against Him and building shields against the darkness as needed. God has
shown His hand to us in many ways.

As I said, today is a GREAT day, a day the Lord has made, so we ask that you
join us in prayerful thanksgiving to our Lord, thanking Him for bringing us
to this point. Pray for Bob-G, Phyllis-B, and myself today that we
continue to let God do His work. Especially pray for Jackie Go and her
group of dancers as they woprship God in music and dance.

We all invite you to join us, in Hudson, HL02 cafe annex, if not in person
then in prayer. The time is 12-1pm...today.

God's love go with all of you and may He bless you all with joy and peace.
Love,
Bob

RE .63

I have a friend who works in HLO with whom I've been sharing the Gospel and
for whom I've been praying for some time. I received mail from her a little
while ago and what took place there just may have been what she needed to
push her over the edge! I'll keep praying, but just to let the folks know
who put that on at least one person was ministered to!

    A few of you have been asking me when I will be getting a group
    to go to Parkers. I thought May 21 would be good.
    We all could meet at LKG parking lot and 6pm and get to Parkers
    at 6:30. I can make reservations.
    We could car Pool, we have done this a few times.
    For those who never have been to Parkers, it's in Mason NH
    and they make Maple Syrup and have a Resturant there and a
    gift shop. The resturant has anything from Pancakes to Prim
    Rib..they have a nice salad sleigh.
    They have salad dressing with Maple in it and many other things.

    They also have Folk music on Friday and Saturday nights.

	#24 (aka Lisa Lombardo), Emily Jennison, and I will be meeting
	at Dean Park Pizza in Shrewsbury on Friday, May 21st at 12:00
	for lunch.

	Anyone interested in joining us is encouraged to do so. Dean
	Park offers more than pizza and grinders, by the way. Food is
	good and reasonably priced.

	Please let me know either here or by mail if you'll be coming -
	I can get there a few minutes early to get a table, as I live
	just down the street.

	Karen

	PS - If you're interested in any of the tapes Lisa has to offer,
	this'd be a way to avoid shipping costs!

	Dean Park Pizza is on Main St. in Shrewsbury.

	From the Shrewsbury facility : Go straight throught the lights
	at Rte. 9. At the next lights (By Julio's/Star Market), turn
	right. Dean Park Pizza is 1/4 mile (or less!) on your left.

	From Northboro/Marlboro: Take Rte. 20 toward Shrewsbury.
	When Rte. 20 bears left in Northboro (by Times Square Market
	and Northboro Veterinary Clinic), bear right. Follow this
	road approximately 2 miles, Dean Park Pizza is on your right,
	just past Dean Park (the park !).

Sunday, June 13, 1993 - beginning at 10 am.
Lowell Church of the Nazarene
1145 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, Massachusetts
(508) 453-1063 for directions.

This is my fourth reprise of the character Psalty the Singing Songbook.
Come and see if we pull this together (having the unfortunate occurrence
of pneumonia side-lining our director, my wife).

Seriously, folks. If you have children, this program is a must see, because
they likely know about Psalty's adventures and invariably love them. If
you're a kid at heart, or just want to see me parade around in a book
costume, you're invited.

The usual applies: pre-production program of the younger children, free-will
offering, come early to get a seat in the first two thirds of the pews.

    The Walk For Life is a fundraiser for the Colorado Springs Pregnancy
    Center (CSPC) here in Colorado Springs. It will take place this Saturday,
    June 5th at 8:30 am at Memorial Park.

    The CSPC counsels approximately 300 women each month who find
    themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. They counsel that abortion
    compounds rather than solves the problems associated with an
    unplanned pregnancy. The Center also provides free pregnancy testing,
    education on pregnancy and abortion, shepherding homes, support
    groups, maternity and baby clothing, childbirth classes and coaches.

    I will be participating in this event. If you would like to learn more

You're invited to hear, through music and testimony, how one man went from "the
streets", to prison, was later "set free", and now works in our local prisons.

Rev. Jose Matos is a gifted speaker and a talented musician, and rounds out his
gentle, but compelling presentation with song. He is fluent in both English
and Spanish. Jose is founder of "The Set Free Ministries, Inc."

This is the second of a 3-part series on how some Christians in the U.S. reach
out to the community. For more information contact Bob Eggleston, 225-4935.

    Jim,

    You probably won't see anything in your local newspaper(or anyone
    else's local newspaper) about it. The "March For Jesus" has been an
    annual event in many cities around the world for a couple of years now.
    Thousands of Christians turn out to march for an audience of one. The
    Lord Jesus Christ! I first heard of it from some friends who moved to
    Texas and participated down there(Austin, I think). This is the first
    time I've heard of it around here. Many of the Worcester churches are
    participating. This is not a protest. The only signs allowed are
    those honoring Jesus. Not even church name banners are supposed to be
    there. This will help eliminate those churches that claim to be
    Christian but are self serving. If you send me your address I will try
    to find a brochure for you.(and anyone else who wants one)

    In His Love,
    Dave

This is my fourth reprise of the character Psalty the Singing Songbook.
Come and see if we pull this together (having the unfortunate occurrence
of pneumonia side-lining our director, my wife).

  *** I've got [most] of my lines down and this looks like a "Go."

Seriously, folks. If you have children, this program is a must see, because
they likely know about Psalty's adventures and invariably love them. If
you're a kid at heart, or just want to see me parade around in a book
costume, you're invited. We're going to have some fun with this.

The usual applies: pre-production program of the younger children, free-will
offering (or whatever you're predestined to give), come early to get a seat
in the first two thirds of the pews.

       stack, because I (mistakenly) think I can eat them all.
          NOT!
    I always wind up eating three. Those things are HUGE! oh and thick!

    I always wind up eating three.
		Something tells me it's me you're trying to wind up...... ;-)

    Those things are HUGE! oh and thick!

They issue them to the fire brigade here to catch skydivers making good
impressions. It's rumoured that there's a hefty reward offered for the first
one to penetrate the maple syrup and leave a permanent impression on the
pancake...

Where have I been all my life? I've only seen 2- and 3- stacks... Never a
2+3 stack... Now that sounds like a challenge worth suffering to attempt...

    order pancakes there, 'cause you can not get pancakes like these

Hey, PDM - news for you, boyo. I got hooked when in the States, and at the
drop of a saucepan can plunge into a bowl of Aunt Jemima's instant
delirium, until the family can scarcely stagger off to bed afterwards...

Once the whole family (except me) was down with a *real* *nasty*
several-day intensive drastic-type emergency tummy-bug, and when they were
crawling out of it, I (desperate for something *nourishing*) treated myself
to a stack. Jeremy, who has never been known to refuse anything you could
balance on a plate tottered at the aroma wafting from the kitchen regions.
Everyone else had a relapse, and I went down with 'it' the next day.....
Their revenge was complete, but I enjoyed my AJ's, and still do. Wouldn't
give the local sweetmeats a glance by comparison... ;-)

Phil - that'd be great if you (and Dani too ?) would join us.

I.P. is definately a lady, a very nice lady .... and a former moderator
of this notes file too, I'm sure she'd like to see some old-times there
on Thursday, and meet "new" noters too, and crowds are fun, so if you've
got some free time Thursday evening.

Ann - I thought you said you were going to be in the Parkers parking lot
at 5:45 in your first note ?

Um the last sentence in the 2 paragraph didn't come to a proper end, just
sort of stopped. What I meant to say was:

    Opps did I goof ? There are people meeting me at LKG parking lot at
    5:45. I know one person is coming from Andover and will come to LKG
    and I will drive those who come there or have them follow me to
    Parkers. We probably will leave LKG around 6:00, it depends on
    who is going and how long it will take them to get to LKG parking

    Can you put these people in order?

    Esther, David, Noah, Daniel, Gideon.

    Many Christians can't! However, thousands are learning this and MUCH
    MUCH more by attending a Walk Thru the Old Testament seminar.

    This day long seminar will be run at Tyndale Baptist Church, Reading,
    Berkshire on 13th November as part of our Church Anniversary
    celebration (it is also the anniversary of our minister's arrival at
    the Church).

    It starts at 09:30 and finishes at 17:00. You will need to bring a
    packed lunch. The fee is 10 and includes the Seminar manual and liquid
    refreshments.

    I have some leaflets and application forms for the seminar at Tyndale,
    if you'd like to go or would like to organise a seminar for your own
    Church. They also run a Walk Thru the New Testament seminar (perhaps
    we'll have that one next year!).

                  The purpose of PrimeTime is to communicate the relevance
                  of Christianity to the issues and struggles we deal with
                  in daily life.

        Date: Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20.

		Faith Fellowship Church presents

			Second Saturday
		  "Bringing Light to the Night"

		    8 January 1994 at 7:30 PM

	You've never experienced anything like this before!

		MUSIC	DANCE 	VIDEO	DRAMA	WORD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm really "pumped up" about a new project sponsored by our church,
Faith Fellowship, and wanted to tell you about it.
Located in Upton, MA, Faith Fellowship is throwing open our doors for an
on-going series of Saturday evening programs in 1994 dedicated to building
a bridge with those who are un-churched or who have yet to find a relation-
ship with Christ.  The program is called "Second Saturday" and our tag line
declares that we are "bringing light to the night."  We'll have a similar
program, based on a theme of the Gospel, the second Saturday evening of
each month.
In short, we are attempting to communicate the truth of Jesus Christ
through tools such as video, drama and music in a language that those
outside of Christ can understand.  Fast-paced and provocative, we'll be
sharing the relevance of living a life based on the Bible, in relationship
with our mighty God.
Any of you who are familiar with Chicago's Willow Creek church (Bill
Hybels, pastor) will recognize what we're about to spring on the area.  In
fact, it sounds an awful lot like "PrimeTime" out in Colorado, mentioned
earlier in this string.  (BTW, what sort of response did you receive at
your November programs?)  I was involved with a similar project five years
ago in the North Andover, MA, area and was mightily encouraged.
It's really awesome how our God uses the arts to reach the unchurched!
It's even more amazing that He invites our cooperation with Him in reaching
those outside of a relationship with Him (read="the lost").
Thanks for listening...and keep us in prayer this Saturday, would you?
In Him,
-greta
	Well, I got a pleasant surprise this morning when I found that
	the "visitor" sitting just across from me for the week is none
	other than Erich White from Ayr, Scotland.
	Erich and I will be getting together for lunch on Thursday.
	Anyone in the Hudson, Marlboro, Shrewsbury area that's
	interested in joining us is *more* than welcome!
	I'll wait until I know who the attendees are before determining
	the restaurant.  That way, I can find something that is equidistant
	from the different sites.
	Please respond here or via EMail to me.
    this when he first worked here.
    This year the Retreat will be July 22,23 and the 24th.
    I will let you all know more as time goes on.
    We can have a meeting with Jon and Kay Escobar ( His Girlfriend)
    who also worked for DEC. They can answer any questions..
    Some have come Friday night and others Saturday. People bring their
    own food for Breakfast and Lunch but for dinner the last two years
    we have gone to a church supper and has worked out great.
    This is a relaxing Retreat where you can do any thing you
    wish like water ski, swim or shop til you drop with me :-)
    I take those who would like to see some gift shops shopping.
    We usually have things for breakfast, like Donuts and Muffins.
    People have brought their own coolers.
    We have a sing along, bible study Saturday night and Sunday
    we all go to church together. If there is a church you would
    rather go to then the one we all go to there are several
    in the area...
    We have always had a note file for this.. I will start one soon.
    Hope you all can come.
On Thursday at 7:30 we are having a service that has as its center a
reenactment of the Lords supper, in costume.  The dialogue is all taken
straight from Scripture.  Our pastor will be playing Jesus, and the Lord's
supper will be shared with the congregation from the table.
You're all welcome to come, Windham Presbyterian Church (in the town center
visible from Rt 111), in Windham, NH.
Community Chapel drama and choir are performing
"The Day He Wore My Crown", a resurrection musical.  If you
make the effort to come, you'll be glad you did.  I can't
say enough about the effort that goes into a production like
this and the subsequent results.
To get to Community Chapel (A Church of the Nazarene) from
the South, take Route 3 to exit 7E.  At the end of the ramp,
go straight through the light and then take your first left
(100 yards).  Community Chapel is directly on your right
(Comfort Inn/99 Restaurant is on your left).
	Nancy,
	I'd very willingly offer up space in my home, but
	my closing date on my new home will be anywhere from
	the 11th to the 17th.  I fully expect my house to be
	piles of boxes for the month of October, and to be
	sleeping elsewhere myself the night before the
	closing (have to turn over an empty, clean house to
	If our lives aren't complete and utter chaos at the
13.207CSLALL::HENDERSONI'm the traveller, He's the WayFri Sep 23 1994 13:5817
He's the Pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, also
President of a college associated with the church.  He has a daily radio
program called "Turning Point" during which he preaches/teaches from the
Bible, which has a large following.  Of all the "radio preachers" I've
listened to, I consider him to be my favorite.
I would state, non judgementally, that he is non charasmatic, and somewhat
conservative.
My friend Ron and his wife are going with me.  Ron, being blind, listens to
him and has many tapes from his ministry and enjoys his teaching.
    Life Chain is an annual event where christians from all denominations
    gather in prayer, standing roadside, holding signs proclaiming the
    Biblical view of abortion (i.e., "Life is Precious"  "Jesus forgives and
    heals").  IT IS NOT A DEMONSTRATION.  This event has been held in
    Northern Worcester County for the past 4 - 5 years and no one has ever
    been arrested.  The signs speak for themselves; no one shouts or
    "preaches" at passersby.  People who are interested in participating
    are asked to do so prayerfully.  Other Life Chains are being held
    simultaneously in 4 or 5 other cities in Massachusetts.
	Where:	The Concord Playhouse
		51 Walden St., Concord, MA
		$5.00 for children/senior_citizens
		For tickets call 369-0061, P.O. Box 5, Concord, MA, 01742
The production is both a musical and a highly evangelical adaptation of the
Charles Dickens classic, remaining essentially true to the original story
while also delivering the powerful message of the gospel as Scrooge's heart
is changed in consideration of the Christ of Christmas.
The production was first produced in East Anglia, England in 1984, and has
been performed here in the U.S. five times (1987-1992).  It is about 2.5 hours
in performance.  As indicated above, it is a full-scale musical theatrical
production with stage sets, lighting, sound, costumes, and live music.
    As women today we face challenges unlike women before us ever have.
    Many of us have careers, families to care for, personal goals and
    ambitions we are striving to achieve, and busy schedules to maintain.
    We are looking for fulfillment.  The Bible indicates the vital role God
    desires women to play and offers practical solutions for a life that
    can truly bring fulfillment.  That is why we would like you to be our
    special guest on March 4th, 1995 for The Circle of Life.  The theme is
    borrowed from the popular song by Elton John and is the title track
    from the movie the Lion King.
    Please join us for an incredible day in Sturbridge, Massachusetts for
    the annual Western New England Women's Day.  We are honored to have
    Mary Franz as our guest speaker.  Together with her husband, Tom, they
    lead the mission church in Amsterdam, Holland.  She and her husband
    have served in the ministry for years in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
As many of you know, Sunday is Pentecost, the second most important feast in
the church year after Easter.
This Sunday at 11:00 the Church of the Advent on Beacon Hill in Boston
(Brimmer & Mount Vernon Streets) will have a 16-piece orchestra and
additional soloists accompanying the choir in a Solemn High Mass using
Schubert's Mass in B-flat Opus 141 as the Music of the Mass.
There will be a reception with champagne and strawberries afterwards in
the garden.
    *****  INSTITUTE FOR CHRISTIAN RENEWAL -- PENTECOST EVENTS  *****
      !!! This Saturday, June 3, 1995, the day before Pentecost !!!
      -------------------------------------------------------------
From the announcement...
For many years The Institute for Christian Renewal has co-sponsored a Holy
Spirit conference and service the day before Pentecost.  This year we're
holding it at our offices/chapel in Plaistow, NH.  Here's the schedule:
TEACHING on the Holy Spirit from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  (There'll be breaks
with coffee and tea provided.  Bring a bag lunch for your noon meal.)  We'll
look at various aspects of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Spirit
Empowerment, the Gifts of the Spirit, and the like.
FESTIVE PENTECOST EVE SERVICE from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.  Lots of wonderful
praise music (some by Janet Aloisio - a wonderful Christian recording
artist.)  There'll be prayers for the infilling of the Spirit and also
prayers for healing.
COME TO EITHER or BOTH events.  If you come to both, there'll be two hours
between 4 and 6 PM for dinner at one of the numerous restaurants along Route
125.
HOW TO GET THERE:  These events will be held at 148 Plaistow Road, Plaistow,
New Hampshire.  (This is Route 125.)
  FROM MASSACHUSETTS:  Go east (north) on I-495 to Exit 51 for Plaistow. (Do
  not exit at Exit 48!!)  Head north on Route 125 for 4 miles.  There'll be
  a few forks in the road.  Stay with Route 125.  On the right will be Primo
  Pasta and Uncle Buddy's.  On the left are the signs for Chunky's Cinema Pub,
  Dr. Mary Pearson, and Trinity Church.  Enter that parking lot.  Our side
  of the building is the right side.  Go in the front door, into Dr. Mary's
  office, and come upstairs.
  FROM THE NORTH:  Come south on Route 125.  In Plaistow, Route 125 crosses
  Route 121-A at a set of traffic lights.  Immediately ahead of you on the
  right is Chunky's Cinema Pub.  Turn into that parking lot.  Come in the
  front door, into Dr. Mary Pearson's office.  We're upstairs.
------------------
The Institute for Christian Renewal (I.C.R.) conducts an international
ministry of evangelism, renewal, and Christian healing and seeks to help
Christians come to a closer knowledge of God through Word, prayer,
sacrament, and experience of His Holy Spirit in their lives.
The doctrinal orientation is conservative Evangelical Protestant AND
Charismatic AND Catholic with an Anglican and Old Catholic orientation
rather than Roman Catholic.
Any questions, please post them here or send me mail.
    "Richard Day"?
    Is this the same 'Dick Day' who used to note here off and on (and his
    lovely wife [Wendy - if I remember correctly?]) a few years back - and
    who's dashing likeness I have at home extracted from a 'Digital Today'
    Greetings Brother! (even if you are not the same 'Dick Day')
    My brother is bringing his handbell choir on a tour of England,
    Scotland and Wales, so I thought I would post their itinerary here, in
    case anyone is interested or logistically able to attend. The choir is
    wonderful - I have a tape of their music that I listen to often - there
    are sixteen bellringers playing five octaves of bells (61 bells), as
    well as hand chimes. The music will be primarily sacred, with some
    secular as well - Hymns, Spirituals, American Folk Tunes and a few
    original compositions.  Some performances will be shared with other
    choirs, but I don't know which ones. If you can make it - please do -
    I really think you'll enjoy it!
Thanks Rebecca,
    Sounds good.  Chobham is about 25 miles from Reading, so I'm hoping to
    get the family along to that one.
    Salisbury's about 55 miles away, but on our prayer meeting night!
    Chester and York are 200+ miles north, on the way to Scotland, but I
    expect you've got them on the atlas...
    but ... Dunblane, Stirling, is actually in Scotland rather than
    England.  They tend to be rather aware of the distinction.
    I hope they enjoy their trip!
						God bless
Andrew, I spoke with Rebecca over the weekend, and if she calls again
(I don't have a number to reach her at) I'll pass along your questions,
and that you may be able to attend the Chobham concert.  If I'm not mistaken,
her brother is the handbell choir leader.  Her Mom is also traveling along to
hear their concerts.
Great, Leslie - thanks!
When I re-read .0, I thought he must be the leader.  I'd be glad to know
their names too.  They have a heavy schedule, and quite a bit of traveling
to get round.  I guess I can get a ticket at the door for Chobham, rather
than needing to in advance.
    Yea!!!  Will your lovely wife and son be attending as well???
    In case you need directions...
    Exit 149, Woodmen Road, head west and get in the left lane as soon as
    possible.  You will almost immediately go through an intersection with
    traffic lights.  After that intersection you will be on a bridge that
    goes over the railroad tracks.  While on that bridge you will see to
    your left, on the far side of the tracks, a small commercial complex
    called "Windchime Center".  Froggymeisters is in that center.  At your
    next traffic light, turn left, go down the hill, and turn at your first
    left (the entrance into the complex).  As you turn in, you should see
    Froggy's.  It is at the lowest corner of the parking area.
John,
Who is the builder of this organ?
What kind of action does it use? (electric, tracker, ??)
I think that the pedal is a little light, it needs at least the 16' Bombarde
(42.), and a Mixture IV in my opinion. I also think that these would be
preferable to the Open Wood (35.)
Peter.
    Our church has been having a series of forums on Religion and Politics
    led by Dr. Dale Kuehne (prof of political science at St.Anselms). The
    forum has looked at the different ways Christians have viewed and been
    involved in politics from the early church on.  He has invited the
    Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates to speak.  Evidently
    all the campaigns have expressed interest but Richard Lugar is the
    first who has actually scheduled time.
    On Sunday Evening November 5th at 6:00p Senator Richard Lugar,
    Republican Candidate for President will be speaking at the Bethany
    Covenant  Church Forum on Religion and Politics.  The evening format
    will include a  presentation by the Senator, a time for questions and
    answers, and a  reception following.  The event is open to the public
    and child-care is  provided.  The church is located off route 101 at 1
    Covenant Way in  Bedford.
    Bethany Covenant is located in Bedford, NH.
I heard Alan Keyes speak on Saturday night (from Iowa) and was quite
impressed with him.  He spoke eloquently of the issues facing the
country today..one of the things he had to say, which shows where
many of the candidates are focusing their attention:
"kids don't join gangs because they are upset with the graduated
  income tax" (paraphrased).
I may try to see him while he's here.
    Keyes is a good speaker and his message is right on.  I hope he can
    maintain a presence in the primaries as a moral conscience.
    FYI, Keyes says he is staying in the running at least until the
    convention in San Diego.  He got 7% of the vote (6th place) in
    Iowa, and one delegate.  Forbes only got 10%, after outspending
    Keyes hundreds of times over.  The message *is* important, and
    it is beginning to get through!  (Though not as quickly as I'd like...)
How many of you are familiar with Marty Goetz?  If not, he is a wonderful
singer and songwriter.  "Lamb of God" and "He is My Defense" are a couple
of my favorites of his.  If I remember, I'll try and type in the words
when I'm at home.
Also, as a reminder and for those who didn't hear, our very own Steve
McConnell, former Deccie and former Christian notesfile noter, is trying to
raise money to complete an album of original music before this summer.  He'll
be doing a concert at Ruach Israel on Saturday, April 20th at 7:00 PM to raise
money towards completing the album.  Tickets are not being sold, but an
offering will be taken. Steve is a gifted musician, in my personal opinion
he's on par with Michael Card and Marty Goetz. He's also a truly marvelous
brother in the Lord.
Ruach Israel is at the Greendale Avenue Worship Center located in Needham, MA.
(we co-own the facilities with a Mennonite Congregation and the Greater Boston
Baptist Assoc)
       From Route 128, take exit 19B.
       At the lights by Muzi Ford, turn left onto Hunting Rd.
          This will become Greendale Avenue.
       Continue straight through 1 set of traffic lights.
       The Greendale Avenue Worship Center will be on the left side of
          the road.  I'll check the mileage, and enter it in here so
          you'll know better where to look for it.
On the same day, April 20th, at 10 AM, Ruach Israel is having a special
worship service for Holocaust Rememberence Day.  We will have a guest speaker,
a survivor of Aushwitz.  I don't have his name with me, but he is the author
of "Dentist of Aushwitz".  We are inviting others to come and hear this person
speak.  I'll find out his name & enter it here also.
    	A reminder, tomorrow night is the orientation night for
    	the next Weigh Down Workshop.
    	I just completed this 12 week program, and I can tell you that
    	a lot more than your weight will change!
    	I lost 17 pounds more easily than I've ever lost weight before
    	in my life.  I know that this weight will stay off, because
    	God's lessons are permanent ones.
    	The class costs $103 for 12 weeks.  You get a set of 12 audio
    	cassettes that are yours to keep, and a workbook.  During the
    	weekly sessions, you watch a video and discuss your homework,
    	plus what the Lord's been doing in you.
    	The class at Holden Chapel runs no more than 1.5 hours.
    	If anyone wants to know more, or wants directions, feel free
    	to send me mail.
    	I gain nothing from this but knowing that another struggling
    	soul can be touched by God.
        What is a L'Abri Conference?
                          A L'Abri Conference offers the opportunity
                          for a "waking up" time to understand what it
                          means to be a Christian in our society; a time
                          to sharpen our thinking and to be challenged to
                          approach all of life in a biblical manner; a time
                          to dialogue with others about significant issues;
                          a time to listen, to think, and to rethink. It is
                          not a call to become a "Christian intellectual,"
                          but it is an invitation to come together with
                          biblical integrity, in order that we might intel-
                          ligently converse about matters of faith and life.
New Life Drama Company (affiliated with New Life Community Church in Concord,
Mass.) will be putting on a major musical theatrical production, based on the
story of John Bunyan's _Pilgrim's Progress_.  The following are the details:
	What:   Celestial City  (D.K. MacAdam, J. Curtis, 1992, 1996)
	Where:	The Concord Playhouse
		40 Stow St., Concord, MA
	When:	Saturday, June 22, 2:00 pm
		Saturday, June 22, 7:30 pm
		Sunday, June 23, 7:30 pm
		Wednesday, June 26, 7:30 pm
		Friday, June 28, 7:30 pm
		Saturday, June 29, 2:00 pm
		Saturday, June 29, 7:30 pm
	Cost:	$10.00 for adults,
		$5.00 for children under 12 and senior_citizens
		$7.00/person group rate of 12 or more
		(Not recommended for children under 5)
This is a full musical theatrical production with stage sets, lighting, sound,
costumes, and live music.  It is designed to be a highly evangelistic outreach.
It should be noted that this is *not* a church fundraiser, and the admission
fee is intended only to cover the material/rental costs of putting on the
production (in fact, 1992 production was accomplished at a financial loss.)
The plot sets the main elements of the story of _Pilgrim's Progress_ within
the story of John Bunyan's arrest, imprisonment, and eventual release from
prison.
