| Your host is still here :-)
I have been doing more building than flying this past year. The
Nieuport-11 (documented elsewhere) is basically ready for covering and
I have another 80" Junkers that is being covered now.
Cheers,

| I'm building my first plane, an Eagle II. Something nice and slow so
once I'm taught to fly, maybe it will be around for a(little)while.
The wings are ready to cover and the fuse. is close.
I live in Muncie IN. and with the AMA locating their headquarters and
flying fields here I just couldn't resist getting into flying.
I was glad to see the notes file. Several questions have been answered
by looking back thru. I hope we get some more "noters" as it appears
that things are slow of late.
Thanks for being another resource

| On my second gallon O' glow fuel so far this year.
Currently flying the following:
40 size engine- yea old reliable Telemaster
- Goldberg Cub on floats
- Falcon 56 wing on a home brew 28" long fusalage
10 size engine - home brew flying wing
- home brew flying carpet
1/4 scale 4 hp scratch built Laker Bucaneer (amphibian)
Gentle lady (modified wing-10 ft wing span)
Electra glider
Had a Guillows Stuka with an OS 10 on it. Flew it about 4 times, got a
little silly with it and the laws of gravity took over and it was
converted back into kit form. This was done only because I was told it
couldn't fly, it actually did fly pretty good.

Been a Deccie since about '91 when I started co-oping here. Back then
I had barely soloed on my GP Trainer 20 when I showed up here hoping to
find a local club to learn at. Somehow I managed to get tangled up
with the local Deccies. It was actually Steve Smith who taught me all
over again how to fly (more than once even!). Currently, I only have an
Ultrasport 60 flying. I have a trainer 60 in need of tail repairs (and
a recovering job). I also have a gremlin which I got a little too bored
with (READ: needs repairs). When EV6 finishes, I may be able to enjoy
the hobby again.

Have been around R/C all my life. Have raced r/c cars since the 70's
Part owner in a small hobby shop "Dynamic Hobbies", cuts into my building
and flying time but I have fun.

| Still here with the SBU (last year it was the ABU, but we've been combined)
Been active in RC for over 6 years, and have 5 All-Season-Flyer patches to
prove it. Current hanger inventory includes:
Ziroli Taube, 88" wing, OS 91 4-stroke
CG Extra 300 with Super Tiger 90
CG Sukhoi 26 with YS 120 4-stroke (laid up for repairs)
GP Easy Sport 40 kit bashed into a sort'o'scale T-33 with Enya 40
Henderson/Reith Combat Gremlin with OS 25 FP
Top Flite P-51D Mustang with ST 90, not yet flown
GP Super Aeromaster with OS 61 SF (laid up for repairs)
Ziroli Fokker Eindecker 40-size in semi-retirement
NE Aerodynamics Profile Mustang - still being built
I have also been storing our club trainer, a CG Eagle 2 in the "spare space".
I'm seriously thinking about converting the garage into a storage hanger so I
can use my basement again ;-} But then I'd have to build another garage!! My
wife thinks I'm ill, and other non-aviators look at this collection and
scratch their heads. There may not be any hope, but then again, I'm not
asking for any.....

1691.7 | Oh.....ok | SNAX::SMITH | I FEEL THE NEED | Thu Jul 18 1996 14:00 | 42 |
| Been flying for 6 or 7 years now. Raced cars a couple of years before
that. Do alot of instructing/helping out when needed. Current interest
in Pattern flying, and maybe getting back into funfly stuff.
Hanger includes: LA1 fiberglass/foam pattern ship Hanno 60/header/pipe
Right Flyer semi semetrical trainer that I cheat in
trainer funfly's with.
Eric Henderson designed Unic with Thunder Tiger
Pro46ABC. This is currently my beater/funfly plane.
Although it won't hold up against all out funfly type
planes, it'll kick *ss with anything else.
Eric Henderson designed Goblin. Prototype funfly
plane. It's too heavy to be a "real" funfly plane
but you wouldn't believe the stuff it can do. It has
4 ailerons which, with a computer radio, can be set up
for crow among other things. It's kind of neat flying
up to the edge of the runway a couple of hundered feet
up and calling "landing". Kick in the crow, point it
straight down, pull out at about 3 feet, and land
well before mid field. Or do "real" hover landings
with maybe a 2 or 3 "inch" roll out.
Eric Henderson combat Gremlin with OS25FP. Great
combat plane. I've managed to win a few contest with
it. I also managed to survive a midair with just a
small prop cut in the top of the wing. The other guy
got cut in half. 8^)
On the bench:
English kit called the Aerostar. 120 size all wood
pattern ship with YS120NC up front. Almost ready to
cover at this point.
GAPP (Gilbert Aircraft Performance Products) Lil Rippy
all out funfly plane. This plane holds the current
record for most 360 degree touch and goes. Something
like 15 in a tad under 30 seconds. All I've done on
it so far is open the box and look at it.

| Greetings,
I have recently rejoined the company as a 'tractor - Spent some of my
ill-gotten gains getting kitted out. (My wife never produced a boy to buy a
RC plane for!).
Just learning and still in the lurching around the sky stage!
Have an Eagle 30 NRTF and a European Radio that for the life of me I can never
remember
the name of!
Flying through Werrington Park Club near Penrith, NSW Australia.
Re NRTF.
Discovered that;
It does make a difference where the engine is mounted - The kit is for a 35,
but dealer suggested I get a Magnum 40 (for the next model(s)). I had to put
new engine mounts on and put the engine on 2.5 cm to high (making the fuel
tank 2.5cm to low!).
The dealer ommited to give me the fuel line - being a complete newbie I
assumed the
plastic tube in the kit was the fuel line - firstly it was 'extremely' hard to
get this
to clip on the fuel tank, but it melted half way thru the first flight.
Also... Because the 'fuel line' was hard to attach to the tank, I discovered
that
I had actually cracked the fuel tank! I have a new fuel tank now, and as soon
as
I hair dryer it into shape It will be fitted.
Finally.
I made things clear to the dealer that I was a total newbie. I got little in
the
way of advice (re fuel line etc). I didn't even get the wing rubber bands.
I now go to another dealer who gives advise and suggestions. He also has
someone
who will for a small fee actually do the final assembly for me if desired!
The purists may mock, but I am trying to enjoy the sport of RC flying, not
building - I am not and will never be a builder.
Stan.
