1620.0. "JETS NEEDED" by SALEM::DEAN () Mon Aug 15 1994 13:24

Anyone know of ducted fan pilots that live around the Mass/N.H. line?
Looking for some people that have experience with Jets that could come
to one of our meeting and give a dog-an-poney show.

Actually, I believe that Bob Brodeur at RC Buyers has an F16
(in thunderbirds colors). But I understand he flys it up in the white
    mountains...

    Give him a call..

    cheers,

We have a couple of people down in my area but you don't have a big enough
impound to hide behind 8^)

Perhaps you can contact the Orange MA club that used to sponsor the ducted fan
fly-in. Kay gaas:: Fisher belongs to them.

I know of only two names related to ducted fan jets. One is Anker
Berge-Sonne, ex-DECcie. He had an F-16, must have flown it at least 2
times, maybe 3. Grass and jets don't get along too well. I don't think
    he's your man.

The other name is Dwight Holley. He's at the ducted fan flyin at Orange
every year. I'm pretty sure he lives here in New England, I could ask
around to find out his address. If I remember correctly he flys a
Starfire, and flys it superbly well. He's one of the few really good
pilots at those ducted fan gatherings (most of them spend too much time
building and tweeking, and not enough time flying. And those that do
fly a lot just do high speed low pass, pull up split-S into high
speed low pass other direction, etc.).

    Maybe Kay knows Dwight???

Bob Rouley, who belongs to the CMRCM club is pretty heavy into ducted
fans. He's had the F16, an couple of Phantoms and I think his latest
    is a quarter scale Phantom.

Also, a guy with the last name of Fish (runs Fisher RC in Natick) has
recently completed a quarter scale Lear. He had it at the Loopers air
show earlier this summer. The thing is huge.

Don't know any ducted fan pilots around the Mass/N.H. line.

Thanks for all the inputs. By the way... what ever happened to the
ducted fan event that took place in Orange MA?

Last year some new guy wanted to run it.
So Dwight Aube and Dan Fish let him.
That took it to Westover AFB.
There were complaints of bad organization and safety.
So this year the guy wanted to run it again.
So Dwight and Dan let him.
Westover said "No".
Maybe next year Dwight and Dan will run it again.
Maybe not.
Dan was upset because they had never missed a year - till now.

Bottom line = politics.

    Kay,

Is Dwight Aube the guy that flies the Starfire? I thought his name was
    Dwight Holley.

Too bad if they don't hold it this year. I still like watching the
    jets.

I think so. He last had his ducted fan repainted to be red Coke-A-Cola
paint scheme. Was that a Starfire?

There may also be a Dwight Holley - I don't know him tho.
Dwight has in the last year or so stopped most modeling activities.
But his partner Dan Fish is still an active Ducted Fan flyer - and
like Dwight - one of the best.
