| Hi Dan,
Since you responded so quickly how could I do anything but forgive
you!!! :-)
Thanks for the info. I have tried calling their number, which I got
from Model Helicopter World (the same no. you gave me, so at least
they got that right!!), but only got an Answer Phone. I don't know
why but the advert in MHW didn't have a price.
Dan, do you know of anyone who has used the SSG/1 in anger. I was
talking Joh Bottomley and Dave Whitney (of Northern Helicopter
Products, who makes Carbon Fibre heli blades) and neither of them
knew of anyone using the SSG/1. If I can get a usage report from
someone I, and I am sure they, would be very interested.
Look forward to hearing from you. And thanks once again for the info.
Cheers, Jim.

Jim,
Don't know of anyone using one. I was using a JR-120
in my Shuttle which I will transfer to my X-Cell Pro when I
get it built. Eventually, I am hoping to go to the JR Piezo
Gyro in the X-Cell, but will need to let my budget recover
first! :). The Sundance is another alternative to the Piezo
( and cheaper ) so I may end up going that direction.
The Sundance did seem to be selling well from at least one
vendor I visited at the WRAM show, as he had 2 enquiries in the 5
minutes I was at the booth.
Ironically most of the heli pilots I know are using the
the low end Futaba gyro, and they claim thats all they need.
I originally had one of these in my Shuttle ( and will again
when I steal the JR-120 for the X-Cell). They work OK, but
I like at least dual rates, and ball bearings
If I hear of anyone using a Sundance, I will let you know.

1585.5 | Sundance SSG/1 Gyro | GUCCI::CCROOKSHANKS | | Fri Mar 18 1994 13:14 | 21 |
| Hi Jim,
This is Chuck Crooshanks. I work out of the Virginia Beach, Va.
office in MCS. A friend and fellow flier is using this gyro on his
Xcell-Pro with good results. The earlier versions needed a micro-code
change to allow use of mixing circuitry with the PCM10S (JR radio), but
the newer ones should be up to date.
I'm just putting the final touches on my Xcell-Pro, but have
decided to utilize the JMW III (my old standby).I also use the PCM10S
and love it. Another flyying buddy uses the JR Piezo with good results,
but the price is somewhat steep!
The really appealing aspect to the Sundance is the baggage it
does not have (only one piece to the whole thing), and the price is not
that bad. Well, hope that helps.
P.S. This is my first reply and I hope to give a little history on
myself in the correct topic.
Reguards,
Chuck Crooshanks
