Well, let's start with the flying first. The CG of the Zaunkoenig
was where it's supposed to be, without adding any trim weight.
The elevator throw was set to 1/10 inch as a friend of mine suggested.
He has flown this birdy before and this was a strong advice.
The ailerons were set a little bit more. The engine is a COX
Medallion 09 with a 7x4.
Following shows the installation of the radio :

It's actually pretty much this size and this tight.
FLIGHT REPORT
I filled the tank and started the engine without too much trouble.
The function were verified for correct direction. Knees where trembling
to a certain extend and then I threw it with a little upward direction.
I wouldn't have believed it but the engine pulled the Zaunkoenig
right up. A little down and left trim and the bird flew straight.
It was not oversensitive at all and followed exactly the steering.
What a surprise ! I was expecting a nervous plane and was getting such
a nice flying little thing. I'm gonna build a new one. Aeh....
Well, I guess it's time to tell the whole story. I didn't check the
range of my radio. I thougt it would not be necessary because it worked
flawlessly in the Klemm 25. BUT there the antenna was streched to its
full length. Here it was streched only 1/2. And in the plane before
the Klemm, it was streched 1/2, too. And that one crashed because
an unkwown reason - unknown till yesterday.
What happened - I flew the first turn perfectly, the plane parallel
a little away from me (the antenna in the most effective way). When
the next turn towards me the effective length of the antenna in view
from the transmitter got very small causing the Radio not to work.
It crashed full speed with an angle of 60 degree on the ground.
Fuselage broke, wings and everything else survived. A following
range check showed that with just 1/3 of the full antenna length of
the transmitter I just got maybe 30 feet ! Dunno, I could have
checked that earlier.
Anyhow, to build a new fuse will take just few hours, waiting for the
paint to dry will be the majority of time. And it flies great, is
very convenient to transport and CHEAP.
