Could'nt find the info in the Balsa note. Those anybody knows the
mechaniocal properties of balsa:
Modulus of elasticity
Tensile strenght
compression strenght
Shear strenght
Hardness
ETC..

Hi Jaques
The Modulus of E is 0.5 x 10exp6 P.S.I.
The rupture Modulus is 2.2 x 10exp3 P.S.I.
And, the Maximum crush, compression, strength, paralell to the grain, is
1000 P.S.I.
Evidently, the shear strength is below 1000 psi, the materials data
begins with 1000 psi and there is no entry for the shear..
The moisture content is 5%
The specific gravity is,(Kiln Dried), 0.14
Hope this hepls, data taken from the "1991 MATERIALS SELECTOR",
published yearly by Materials Engineering periodicals..
Regards
phil
