I finally got my hands on some floats for my Kadet, thanks to Kevin Ladd. They are Gee Bee plastic floats, supposedly sized for .40 ships. Now, I remember reading SOMEWHERE in this conference a whole series of tips on how to set up the floats and how to fly off water. But I spent an hour searching through the keywords, searching on strings, etc. No luck. Can someone point me to the right note? Dave

The keyword, FLOAT_FLYING, pointed to the originally correct topic, note 142, but not the other entries on floats. I have since fixed that appropriately for the entries listed below. And I changed the title and keywords of 142. 48.12 set up info by Tom (responding to 48.8) 48.20 info by Al (last paragraph) 48.22 set up info by Al 239.155 an Al Casey yarn 239.740 Casey's report on a float fly 328 Water flying (including comments on Gee Bee) 762 "My floats are too big!!" (see 762.11) 1135.1 this sorta directory To minimize fragmentation, I deleted the new but parallel keyword. Eventually most of these entries will be consolidated, so please append new entries to 328, not here. |
