1062.0. "Bolink Eliminator vs new RC10L" by BTOVT::WHITE_R () Fri Jul 28 1989 15:32

I'm thinking of branching off into road racing cars and am trying to
decide between the Bolink Eliminator (graphite) and the new RC10L
graphite kits. Has anyone had any problems with or any recom-
mendations as to which one is better. I have seen both in action and
have had a chance to drive the eliminator in a couple of races. I
am leaning toward the eliminator but was curious about how the new
RC10L was performing. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated!

I've seen both do well and, like their 1/12 counterparts, I don't
believe either has an inherent advantage from a handling or weight
    standpoint.

This would leave things like part availablility (including things like
can you get top quality mounted tires for your hubs, can you upgrade
your diff if you want, can you get a full range of gears in the pitch
that you want), cost, strength.... as large factors.

Have you considered the TRC Pro 10?

    re .1
Chris I have seen the TRC 10 perform well on indoor carpet tracks,
but on outdoor pavement tracks the car does not seem to handle as
well as the RC10L and the Eliminator (some of it was due to an inex-
perienced driver). After racing this weekend with an Eliminator I
    am sold on it!

I made the switch from asphalt to carpet recently and I found a big
difference in what works well on the different surfaces. It seems like
the carpet chassis's work very well as long as the traction is there
but do not slide well (or predictably) on marginal asphalt. So, as
usual, you have to see what's running good.

I recently saw a Corralli (sp) 1/12 car run. Boy, is that nice. Very
impressive construction, aluminum and nylon. Looks like some real
engineering went into it rather than just stamping out graphite.
Extremely smooth and well hooked car...trouble is it lists for $399!
I don't know if they make a 1/10 car and I can't find any of their
stuff advertised anywhere. If anyone knows anything about these cars
(availablility, good price, etc) I'd appreciate hearing about it.
