Oh Yah!! what fun!! WC's near the beach. And my vacation time
is already locked down during that time frame, I think I'll jump
on my GoldWing and drive out there from Colorado. What a great trip,
planes and motorcycles on the same vacation. Thanks so much for this
info, and while were on the subject of "BIG contests" can anybody
tell me when and where next years "Nat's" will be. I'd love to catch
some of that action as well.

    				Thx in advance

    				  Bob Page

| | Does anybody have the full World Champs results yet. The F3B (glider) was last
month and nothing has been heard to date.
Also what about the WC's held in the US (F3A Aerobatics, F3C Helicopter and F3D
Pylon).
How about listing them here.
John.

| | USA placed 5th in F3B. Top contest speed runs were in the 18 second range.
The top overall flyer was British. I got this verbally so I don't have the
specifics and all the names yet. USA had a pylon cut, which didn't help
    much.

I don't know about the rest of the events.

| | I have a very bad copy of a FAX with the F3D results, some of the names are my
best guess.
Note Dave Shadel as raining World Champion represents himself not the USA. As
he has retained his title he also without qualifying is entitled to compete at
the next WC.

Most interesting - Dave Shadel is the fellow in California
(Performance Specialties) that I sent my OS .60 Black Head engine
to for repair when I thought I had bent a crank shaft.
He blessed it and cleaned it and sent it back - shaft was OK.
Anyway I talked to him on the phone and he had asked what Kind
of motor mount I had - since I had a vibration problem. When I
said a nylon he advised me to switch to aluminum (I haven't yet).
He didn't believe in soft mounts at all - not even for sport engines.
I didn't think much of his answer at the time - but here he is
winning Pylon (again).
Small (RC) world.
