I don't know if anyone is still reading this file, but I'll add my .02
anyway.
I recently decided to get back into airguns and plinking. As a
teenager, I had a Crossman 760 pumpmaster that I used darn near every
day for years. At the time, I thought it was the greatest gun in the
world and I treasured it. You know what I mean. 8-)
I've kept this gun in the back of my closet all of these years. When I
recently decided to drag it out and pop some cans, the seals were so
poor that it wouldn't hold any air. I thought about rebuilding it, but
the rest of the gun was pretty beat so I figured that I'd let it
gracefully retire.
I headed over to Walmart in Hudson, NH and found that the Crossman 760
was still available and was in fact on sale for $26, much less than the
$40 I paid for mine in 1969. But talk about cheaply made! Yikes! My
old gun was all wood and metal and the new version was all plastic!
For $26 I bought it anyway, figuring that the kids could always learn
with it. A woodworking friend retrofitted my old wooden stock to it,
which gave it a much better feel and look, and reminded me of my old
gun. But it's not much of an airgun.
So, I sought out this file and spent a few lunch hours reading old
notes. After reading the reviews of the TS-45, I used AltaVista to see
if it was still available. Compasseco had it.

TECH FORCE 41 $59.95
ITEM AR-6241S New and Improved TS-45
.177 caliber, 800 FPS, side lever cocking, grooved for a scope, breech
safety, trigger safety, monte carlo stock, butt plate, overall length
40 1/2", barrel length 18", 7 lbs.
$69.95 later with shipping, I had it in my hands. Man, this is a
*GREAT* gun for the money. I'm sure that it doesn't compare to the RWS
and other fine guns I read about, but this is a very solid gun and a
fine shooter with plenty of power.
Yes, the stock looks like it was made in a high-school industrial arts
class. A little steel wool took off the most offensive layers of
glossy drips. But I expected that after reading these notes.
So, to all of those noters who gave their input here, I thank you, you
done good. You put a 40-year-old back into the sport for cheap money,
and I'm having a blast.
