Apparently there was another fatal accident on the Merrimack River
in Chelmsford over the weekend. A Bayliner and a Jetski were playing around
(or as a witness said: Driving erratically!). The Bayliner driver ran over/into
the ski driver severing an artery in his ?leg?. The ski driver bled to death.
The Bayliner driver's BAC was .14 and he was arraigned yesterday. The
Chelmsford police are now saying the "*need*" a patrol boat for the river.
bummer all the way around....

ps. I bet NH might have an underpowered 14' alumimum for sale!

Huh, the patrol boat that appeared in 1995 was a joint effort of
the Lowell and chelmsford police.

Gee, I didn't know that, I thought it was only Lowell PD. Chelmsford PD
must want *their* own now and not share any more. :-)

A few years back on lake pueblo, there was one of those stupid loss
of life that should not have happened....A person was driving a ski
boat in a figure eight fashion making huge waves for his buddies to
jump over on their jet-skies. One of them got disoriented (drunk),
jumped a wave and landed his jet-ski on the transom of the ski-boat.
The rider was impaled on the ski pylon.
Ever notice how these stupid accidents always involve alcohol?

My wife heard that the boat driver and jet ski operator were friends.
Sounds like a case of "I'll make some big wakes for you to jump!"

1119.7 | Nashua Telegraph writeup | GAAS::HYER | | Wed Apr 16 1997 13:29 | 11 |
| The Nashua Telegraph had a writeup on this accident. Most of the details the
same as previous noters. They were friends, both had NEW boat/jetski, they were
running 'circles' together near the ramp for the jetski to jump when the
accident happened. The boat ran over the jetski, hitting the driver and
severing the femeral artery in the upper leg. The jetski driver bled to death
before they could get him to the hospital. 29 years old, leaving behind a young
wife and 6 year old daughter.
Its a tragedy that never should have happened.
