Has anybody any experience in booting a PC via an FDDI line and a DEFEA controller ? (DEFEA = FDDI to EISA adapter for a PC). Question is if this would be possible or if there are any limitations in preventing this. Thanks - Cees

If you mean remote boot, then the answer is "unsupported". We have considered investigating remote boot support in the DEFEA, but if it happens, it will happen after we add driver support and ship the upcoming FDDI PCI adapter (DEFPA). - Larry Stefani Adapter Products Group

re:1 Larry, yes remote boot is the subject here. Any idea when this driver support for the DEFPA will become availalble and if it can be aplied to the DEFEA aswell ? Regards and thanks - Cees.

Cees, You'll want to check with the product manager, George Nielsen (DELNI::G_NIELSEN) for futures. What kind of remote boot were you looking for (MOP, RPL, BOOTP) under what O/S (OpenVMS, PATHWORKS, NetWare)? /l |
