425.0. "Alfred Thompson - running for BoD" by CVG::THOMPSON (Radical Centralist) Thu Jan 23 1992 10:45

I have decided to make a petition run for the DCU board of directors.
It is my opinion that the members of the DCU who are not senior
managers need some representation on the board.

I have been a Digital employee for the last 10 years. I joined the
DCU my first week with the company. Since that time I have been a
regular customer of the DCU and use it as my primary banking
    institution.

I would like to be a part of improving communication with and
confidence in the board. I would also like to see the DCU find better
ways to serve its members. Especially those members outside the 3M
area. The DCU has a lot going for it. All of the staff members I have
dealt with over the past 10 years have been excellent. The service is,
in my opinion, better than any bank I have ever done business with.
I think we can bring that service to all areas of the operation.

I have had several years of experience on other kinds of boards.
Specifically, I have served on a private school board for the last
6 years. During that time I have evaluated and hired administrators
and created operating budgets. Also I have served for 5 years on
the budget committee of a NH public school system. This committee
is responsible for developing an operating budget of well over
$17,000,000 a year. I have chaired both of those boards. I believe that
this experience will map very well into credit union board work.

I pride myself on my ability to represent others and to work for the
greater good of the organization. I believe I can make a positive
contribution to the DCU board of directors.

When/where will your petition be available? I will sign it.
Your notes have been very reasonable, considered, and show some
common sense. IMO, that alone qualifies you.

425.2of course I have petitions here in NIO as wellCVG::THOMPSONRadical CentralistThu Jan 23 1992 14:136
So far people in TAY, SCA and COP have asked for petitions to
circulate. I will be sending them out (USPS rather than interoffice)
today or tomorrow morning. Other people who offer will be sent
    petitions as they ask.

For all DCU members in the Washington DC area. I will be in Nashua
next week, and I am planning to attend the petition meeting Tuesday
night. I intend to have petitions for all candidates (or atleast as
many as are provided to me) for the BOD.

I work at COP, third floor, and I will do what I can to get forms to
DCO, MEL, DER, BJO, VFO, WNP, WDC, and any other offices in the area
that I can think of. Now, if anyone in those offices care to spearhead
    themselves, all the better.

    Mark

I will be out of the office all next week, but back in COP Feb 3,
petitions in hand, if at all possible.

Well, I'm on the ballot. I'm fine tuning my 150 words and locating
a B & W "banker look" picture. Thanks very much to all those who
collected signatures and who signed my petitions.

Well, the counting is done and the results are in. I didn't make the
cut but that's ok. The team won. Thanks very much to all those who
voted for me, worked to collect signatures and asked their friends
    to vote for me.
