514.0. "Cell Phone Gadgets" by SNAX::SMITH (I FEEL THE NEED) Tue May 20 1997 08:19
I was looking through one of those catalogs they have on airlines last
night and there was a little gadget for portable cell phones. It's
basically a round ball made of copper covered in a clear plastic/lucite
material. It fits on the end of your antenna. Appears to be about half
the size of a golf ball. Claims are that it increases range (both
outgoing and incoming) and reduces static. ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE
MILITARY UNTIL RECENTLY) 8^). Price is $15 bucks. Anyone ever heard of
such a thing and is there any validity to the claims?????
