1582.0. "getting to/from Maine" by TOPDOC::AHERN (Dennis the Menace) Wed Aug 15 1990 13:54

There used to be a bus that went from Boston along the Maine Coast,
stopping in places like Rockland and Camden. There doesn't seem to be
one anymore. Anybody know of any public transport system that would
enable somebody to get from Boston to Camden 1-way to pick up a boat to
    sail back?

You can't get there from here (said in a Mainer accent).

Or:

1. Fly to Rockland and take a taxi to Camden.

2. Rent a car (cheaper than the former bus for two or more people).

3. Hitchhike.

It turns out Greyhound discontinued the route when there was a strike
and didn't restart it. Flying Boston to Portland for $41 then airport
    limo looks like the option.

As for hitchhiking, anybody going that way the weekend of Sept. 8/9?

Fly into Augusta from Boston, I will be going to my boat in Rockland on
friday evening. I would be glad to take you to Camden at that time.
Give me a call if you are interested.

There is a Rockland airport with scheduled flights... we let off and
take on passangers at both Tenants and Rockport (I wont go in to
    Rockland)
