1495.0. "Want to share a boat" by AKOV13::GYOUNG (Between a Rock and a Hard Place) Tue May 01 1990 13:54

This note is from a very depressed sailor ...... one who has lost
his boat for this summer and is looking for someone who might be
willing to share the operating expenses of a 30 - 35 footer with
myself and my sailing buddy (who's also very depressed about the
    situation).

Background: For the past three summers, myself and my buddy have
shared in the operating expenses for a 33' Hunter in
                  E. Greenwich R.I. The owner was hesitant to put the
boat in the water himself due to the associated costs
vs. the actual time he could/would sail.

Dividing the costs/use three ways was ideal ..... but now
he's decided to do serious sailing this summer and is
keeping the Hunter for himself. We can't complain as
the deal for the past three years has been great.

Would anyone in here be interested in a similiar setup ? I've been
sailing for about 5 years ..... I have a 14' Holder that I keep up in
N.H. and use on Winnipesaukee a few times each year ..... I've been to
Sailing School and also have the 3 years experience on the Hunter in
    Narragansett Bay.

My buddy has sailed for 15 years or more ..... and ran a sailing school
out of San Diego for a while before moving back East.

We're advertising in some papers and also plan to make a few treks
around marinas in Mass. and R.I. trying to find an arrangement.

Anyone interested in exploring this further, please reply to this
file or contact me Greg Young @AKO AKOV13::GYOUNG

1495.3Bring her with you!DPDMAI::HOLLENBECKSat May 19 1990 10:478
    Lee Ann,
You may want to bring your boat with you. We have Lake Texoma just an
hour north of Dallas that will bring back memories of blue water
cruising. Right now, it's a bit overflowing, however in a few weeks it
should be our own small ocean again.

    Welcome to Dallas
    Rick
1495.4Interested in sharing C&C25?BOSTP2::BEAUTue May 29 1990 18:1210
    I have a C&C 25 I might consider sharing. I keep her in
Padanaram (near New Bedford). Boat has inboard (gasoline),
110, 150, 170, spinnaker, loran, depth. New Cushions this
year. Not a new boat, but well maintained and a decent pocket
    cruiser.

Give me a call if you are interested.

I've heard the phrase "pocket cruiser" before, but I've never been sure
exactly what "pocket" means in this context. Can you explain?

If you're still looking I have a 29' Ranger moored in Mystic, Conn.
that I would be interested in sharing. We don't use it that much
any more so time is very flexible.
