The last reply to Note 3 lists the base notes that have no keywords.

1415.2 | ICEBOATS | CSSE32::BLAISDELL | | Thu Dec 28 1989 11:08 | 10 |
| As an alternate or additional strategy, I suggest choosing keywords. Acting on
my suggestion, topics 406, 700, 1049, 1110, and 1060 now all have ICEBOATS as
a keyword.
I needed to find an old iceboating note, which took a while by
DIR/TITLE=ICE,DN,etc. Rather than waste the information and to make it easier
to find iceboating info in the future, I added the ICEBOATS keyword to all
related topics that I found.

1415.3 | not a good idea? | MSCSSE::BERENS | Alan Berens | Thu Dec 28 1989 11:35 | 8 |
| re .2:
The problem with what you suggest is that it requires reviewing EVERY base
note (and all the replies) to determine if the chosen keyword is
appropriate. Extremely time-consuming and exactly what I was hoping to
avoid. Keywords aren't likely to be added unless several people are each
willing to spend a little time on the project (by each doing a small block
of notes).

| Alan,
Yesterday I entered SAILING for the first time in a while, read
your first few notes,...and proceeded to access some base note #'s
on Anchoring that I had written down months ago using
DIR/KEYWORD=ANCHORING.
After reading base note 3.2 and not seeing all the anchoring notes
listed,....I proceeded to add the appropriate keyword "Anchoring"
to notes: 69,146,532, & 607. All these base notes and replys, in my
opinion, could be linked with no other keyword presently available.

| re .3
I agree and now better understand the request for volunteers to add keywords
to a block of notes. I'm happy to help and I'll try to do some over the
weekend.
On the other hand, I think what I did is also helpful. If I create a topic and
miss a keyword that another noter thinks would be helpful, I encourage them to
add it.
