If you are a crew, get a full size one cause you are going to
out there a while.
For the Skipper, I tend to like the butt buckets as they are more
manuerible.
The crotchless ones that strap to your thighs are OK, but I find
them a bit of work to get on/off. The others are sometimes a pain
in the behind if you know what I mean... ;>)
Some styles are going to a windsurfer type frame which helps
spread the load on the sides. Whatever you get, make sure it has an
Aussie quick release feature that allows you to blow out of the hookup
should you be stuck underneath in a turtle. Well worth the extra $5.
In any case, make sure it has foam sandwiched between the layer of
cloth, and it has those black plastic clips to make taking it off/
putting it on easier. Bonus points if it has a small pocket for your
sailing knife and whistle.
IF you can get a Murrary's catalog, they have about 10 different
styles and then you choose your color. (I like darker colors as they
don't show the grime of dirt, suntan lotion, blood etc as easily).
Phone number is in this notes file somewhere either under mail order or
catamarans.
