| Try DIR 9999 - 1. There have been two or more notes on this topic.

1245.2 | Boat also hole on land... | OTP::BILLINGS | | Tue Jun 13 1989 11:14 | 12 |
| I have used both Richards and Carter Raymond (Hingham), and found
that Carter Raymond was better equipped, cheaper, and on schedule
to what they said they would be. This is not to say, however, that
Richards is that bad - just not as good. Distance may be a dif-
ference in price going from Hingham vs Richards' yard, but it might
be worthwhile giving Raymond a call because they loaded/unloaded
much quicker and it might be a break-even. By the way, Raymond is
one of few carriers left who is equipped and experienced at hauling
boats in cradles. Speak to Cathy (very courteous and obliging),

1245.4 | Another Hauler | CBS::CARVER | John J. Carver | Mon Jun 19 1989 14:32 | 13 |
| You might also give Marblehead Trading (617-631-4650) a call. Gloria
does the scheduling. Otie, the hauler, has been in the business for
MANY years. He has hauled my boat (both Spring and Fall) for the past
4 years.
I believe the rate is about $100 dollars per hour.

1245.5 | Gotta truck the boat up | CHRCHL::GERMAIN | Improvise! Adapt! Overcome! | Fri Jun 22 1990 15:15 | 7 |
| I need to get my 27' 6" boat moved to the Marblehead area (from
Connecticut). Who would you recommend, in the general North Shore area,
as the most professional, reasonable rate company for this?
Thanks,
Gregg

1245.6 | M'head Trading is competent | NETMAN::CARTER | | Fri Jun 22 1990 15:49 | 15 |
| I'm not sure anybody, doing anything with sailboats, is "reasonable,"
but I had Marblehead Trading move my boat from Marblehead to Lancaster
in the Autumn and from Lancaster to Marblehead this Spring. They are
competent, charge $75/hour round trip from M'head to destination and
back. That came to 4 hours, which is a realistic number, for my trip.
Depending on the beam of your boat anybody who trucks it may need
wide-load permits. M'head Trading takes care of that, you probably
want to make sure whoever does the trucking gets the permits.
M'head Trading also has facilities to launch your boat and step the
mast, all in a leisurely manner, if that's of interest.
