1105.0. "Racing Crew Wanted" by LDYBUG::FACHON () Thu Jan 19 1989 13:08

As Dave Johnston and Bob Bailey "noted" in previous
entries, it is important to line up potential racing crew
as early as possible. Towards this end, I thought it
might be useful to have a "bulletin board."

If you need crew, or if you want to get on a boat or
know of someone who wants to, reply to this note and
specify your location, the type of boat you have or are
looking to get aboard, your experience, and your level
    of interest.

If you see a reply that's of interest, use E-mail to
make contact. That way we can avoid tangents and focus
    on posting notices.

1105.1Oui Ski Too, looking for crew ...BOOKS::BAILEYBtoo much of everything is just enuffMon Feb 13 1989 08:2127
I'm putting this in for an acquaintance of mine who has a J/36 down
near Montauk L.I. He's looking for some crew who are interested
in doing about equal portions of cruising and racing.

His name's Roger Brown. He just bought this boat last season.
I met him at the NOOD regatta in Newport last season, and again
this past week-end at Killington. He strikes me as the kind of
person who is in it more for the fun than the racing. In fact,
till he bought this boat he wasn't into racing at all. He showed
up at the NOOD with a skeleton crew and picked up some extra crew
down there (including Tom Blackaller for one race).

The name of the boat is "Oui Ski Too", and it's registered in
    Killington Vermont.

    I don't think Roger's looking for any hot-shot racers. His style's
more laid back. But if you're the kind of sailor who enjoys cruising
with some low-key folks and learning the ropes of sailboat racing
by just going out and doing it, this may be the boat for you.

Roger can be reached by phone at (802)422-8306 (home) or (201)631-2601
(work). Or if you prefer, just drop me a line and I'll forward
    it on to him.

1105.2Crew wanted for Supercat NationalsATE030::MALCOLMThu Jun 07 1990 18:3621
    I have a 1983 Boston Whaler Supercat 17' catamaran. I have never
been in a race and am currently planning to attend the 1990 Supercat
Nationals in July. None of my sailing friends are interested. I thought
I'd put in a note to see if any DEC sailors were interested in going
    along and sharing expenses.

The nationals are in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan.
The dates of the event are July 23-28. (Monday-Saturday) I am
hoping to leave Saturday the 21 and be back on Monday the 30th.
The first 3 days consist of a sailing seminar, boat tuning, and
rigging, and other activities. Thursday-Saturday are the actual races.

I will be leaving from Hampton,New Hampshire. The trip looks like 1,000
miles each way which I figure can be done over 2 days.

If interested, reply here, send mail
or call DTN 285-2232, home 603-926-7451 (after 8:30 pm)

call me @ 244-6607 DTN or (617) 262-6154 at home tonight. First come

1105.5Crew needed ... North Shore, MABOOKS::BAILEYBGot some things to talk about ...Mon May 06 1991 16:3117
Wags is looking for a couple of crew members for the season. Of
course, racing experience is preferred. But committment is more
important than experience. If you know how to sail and are looking
to get some racing experience, this is an opportunity to get it on a
competitive boat. He'd prefer someone who's willing to commit several
week-ends to becoming a part of the racing team, rather than someone who
only wants to go out once in a while and be consigned to rail duty.

Racing is primarily on week-ends, in the greater Marblehead area. For
anyone who's interested and doesn't already know the boat, Wags is a
J/36, rates 84 PHRF, and will be racing in the A-fleet again this season.

You can respond by sending E-mail to me, or you can call Dick Wagner
    directly at (617)784-9498.
